    I love my KR.

It has plenty of bottom end power.

A big flat spot in the middle

and good power for a 150cc at the top end.

The flat spot would be good for the newbies as you would know exactly when the power band is gonna come on.

sits a 100 kph really well 6th gear on the flat 5th gear up a hill or for hard head wind

My KR's been an awesome learners bike, and I also commute on it 10k's each way to work everyday! RG, how the hell do you get your bike to stay at 100 in 6th gear? What's it revving at?

    about 5,000rpm.

I changed the front sproket to give it more top speed so that it would stay below the flat spot in the middle of the the bottom end power and the top end power.

Iv'e seen the speedo nedle go waaay past 200kph a few times now where with the old gearing it used to just hit 200. (optimistic speedo of course. Real speed about 180 ish)

Mine dies on 6th gear so I dont really use it...

Mines stock and I think I have the same engine as yours (may be wrong though) and I have only got mine up to 170 on the clock which may or may not be closer to 180. Ive been pulled over for doping 66 when my speedo read 60 and the other day I went passed one of those ACC speed reading thingymawhatsits at 50 on my clock exactly but the LCD screen said I was doing 56. Go figure?!

    Might just be that!

The packing in your muffler my have blown out reducing the Back pressure the a two stroke engine requires to run properly - or as it was designed.

Not a issue though. You may also find that the old Piston and Rings in your bike may cause a power loss.

My bike only has 10,000 kms on it so its only half worn

Mines got 33000 k's on it now so it's definately well worn. Need to get a new bike soon so I dont have to spend too much on it!

For a commuter get an FXR, good bike top speed of 151km/h (I know thats the highest I could get down the staight at Ruapuna) lots of bottom end power and talk and cheap to run.

The Kr150s and Rg150s are good fast wee bikes but scoff fuel and oil like its going out of fashion. It may be different on the road, i wouldn't know. They have a top speed of 180km/h but are two strokes so no bottem end.

Any way its funner to fully thrash a FXR than only partially thrash a KR/RG

My KR is very efficient on fuel and oil.... 150 k's before reserve (found that out the other day, doh!) and $15 at the most to fill. I do quite a few thousand k's before refilling the oil and thats a litre of Castrol TTS fully synthetic at $25 or there abouts. I do keep my revs up and im not particuarly slow either... The bike eats the fuel and oil quicker on longer rides but not majorly...
I may just be biased as well though. Ive really enjoyed owning a Two stroke, loads of fun!

Two strokes are a deffinatley funner bike don't you love the ring a ding sound they make, although FXRs are pretty strangled too
