$1500 worth of bike... almost $5000 a year for full cover... or alternative situation: Kiwibike insurance.. $310 a year full cover.

Hmmm I wonder whether the whole not sitting on phone waiting lines is worth the $4700 extra??? I think not. I'm not totally sure why anyone would go with these guys... Maybe they concentrate on insuring immigrants with limited understanding of english who don't know any better...

Even then, most immigrants I have met/dealt with are pretty tight with their $$!
Most immigrants are usually very money savoy! (sp?)

Savvy. Savoy is, amongst other things, a type of lettuce.

It would be nice if a Money Lettuce was invented though, dont you think?

Star insurance online seems to be very good at bikes over 10K but under that I would recommend Kiwibike. The no theft excess with Datadots is very good and I will get them on my bike. They also give you 15% off if you ride low KM so can save yourself money as a sunday rider. My roadside assist was $40 but that is cheap when I have had a pick up and they were only 25 minutes to get there and it was a flat bed and they knew how to look after my bike not like some towies.

When I talked to star they only do bikes so they know how the bike shops work to make the claims work get done fast but will post on that if unlucky enough to claim

Cripes, took me forever to provide all the info they required (type of disk lock - like I knew THAT?) and then found it was $36 more than the policy I've got at present, and $200 higher for the excess! Think I'll keep looking...

Rang State, got offered a price of $366 to insure the Goose - then tried Kiwi Bike and got a FANTASTIC price of $321 for full cover through Swan. $500 excess ($1000 for theft) but I've never had a claim so I'm more interested in the premiums and I've heard good stuff about them.

Great service (and friendly chat too) from Donna - would definitely recommend talking to them.
