We were in the AMPS showroom around 4.30 Friday, when we heard a Hardley being given the big handful up Khyber Pass from Huntly Ave. So there's this hell of a roar followed by silence and a screeeeech, graunch, crunch.
Rush over to the front door and here's a patched bikie getting to his feet, picks the bike up, hops on and takes off up Boston Rd.
Sat morning I'm talking to another of their members and he says that chummy ran out of room trying to get the front wheel up, locked the front trying to make the turn into Boston and binned it. He showed up later at their place with an arm and leg in plaster. He'd hit the island hard, broke his arm and bashed his leg up. He then picked up the bike and made it home.
He must have been running on a mixture of adrenaline and embarrassment.
One downside of being patched is that not one person got out of their cars to help.
