Take care Wellington Bikers (24 October)

I'm sure that all the Wellington bikers are aware but if you haven't ventured outside yet it's blowing a southerly gale, and raining for Africa.

SH2 between Wellington and Petone is great heading North, but there's a bit of underlying water so take care. Man I'm glad I waterproofed my overtrous and gloves, and wore my rubber over booties this morning.

Flooding all over the show today.....

...and definately feeling for the chap heading west along the Petone esplanade, on a cruiser type bike. Looked to be broken down, saw a couple of flashes from the exhaust (right side only?).

Hope ya got it going again ok, woulda stopped but I was running real late for work

    cheers

Good god, that was nasty. Traffic was backed up all the way from the basin reserve, through the tunnel, down to evans bay, along cobham drive and down to about half way along the airport runway.

In other words about 95% of my commute this morning was done lane splitting, very gently, in rain and "fuck me" wind. The good news is I'm still alive. The bits of my hoodie that stuck out from under my jacket are drenched though.

I've just moved to Wellingon. So when does it stop with the rain and wind?

You gotta love those equinoxical gales!

Bugger me, I'm wet. Lucky I brought a change of clothes...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Oh, it'll run out of Steam I expect!

    Interesting ride in this morning.

Hope I didn't scare too many cagers, but to give them their due, they were making lots of room down the centre for an semi-in-control bike.

It ain't often i think about turning around, but this morning I did (only cos I forgot my keys). But i didn't think long before I decided this was more fun than i can wave a stick at, so I continued ;-)

Somebody took Mrs H's bike into WMC today for a 24,000km service. And then brought it safely home again. Somebody has experienced the delights of today's weather at both ends of the working day. Lovely.
