Yeah thats a good point Jack.

I have taken the odd rear view mirror myself but only if the person has deliberately nearly caused me injury or worse and when I had an untracable plate on my bike which is pretty much always (hence clean getaway).
Its road rage and its wrong but it beats doing something uglier to them in person. Cagers are like childeren, if you dont punish them and reward them at appropiate times, how will they ever learn?
I have also followed drivers home and asked them what I could do to be more visable, they have crapped to see me pull into there driveway but im always civil, mild mannered and quiet in that situation.

good points about the revenge.. i'm probably not psycho enough to actually do it. Nicking their KEYS however I could certainly enjoy!! Just remember their number plate and post them back the next day with a polite note apologising for taking off with them without realising!

    Sorry mate....

ManDownUnder has mentioned a point that I have often thought of myself - make EVERYBODY start their driving by going through the motorbike licence stages and riding BEFORE they are elligible for a car licence, it will never happen because those that make the rules are soft-cocks that wouldn't like riding in the rain - plus some of them would be totally incompetent on a bike and probably kill themselves!! (look at the bright side - the idiots would kill themselves off and after a few generations the whole population would be more intelligent!!)

    Speaking of kicking cars...

Do you guys and gals recall the ad when Mistubishi first introduced the GTO to NZ? In the Ad there was a GTO winding its way along some flat bit of open road,, him driving, her sitting in the seat beside him, then they do a bit of coastal driving etc etc etc...

It took them a lot longer to shoot that ad than they expected due to a little incident they had.

The poser driving the thing decided he'd take some guy on a road bike on, the guy on the bike took exception to it and kicked the car door(why/where/when... I don't know all the details).

Mitsi had to fly in a new door from Japan and have it fitted before they could complete the shoot... no parts here in NZ... it was the first one in the country.

sounds like a great idea. we could all wear black leathers, ride non-japanese bikes and have really loud exhausts. i'm not sure the idea would catch on though

There should be capital punishment meted out to those who exhume old threads.

can  it be done or do you need to have the other boot on the deck? I'm paranoid about going shiny side down in an attempt to vent rage because then i'd be even madder (and have only myself to blame)
I hammered a row of sharpened studs along the outside edge of the soles on my riding boots. They would ruin the paint on anything they touched.

Thankfully I have never had to use them. But I would not hesitate if someone threatened my life on the road.

    Yeah that makes sense.
A row of sharpened studs will suddenly level the playing field between a 250 kg machine and 2 tonne machine.

The only thing you can really do is accept responsibility accept the reality that all cagers are out to kill you and the only way to win is to get there in one piece.
Sharpened studs on your boots just lowers you on the social scale to a thug, and increases the probability that that driver will attempt homocide on another biker or even you.

Coming up to a pedestrian crossing, you're looking for people stepping out, people on the crossing, cars slowing, turning etc etc etc...

If everyione had to spend a couple of years in the saddle I think it'd be a better place - simply because everyone would have been shared shitless a few times, maybe been in one or two dings (where there is some pain - not just a loud "crunch") and guess what - they'd wise up a little.

Problem is I think that heightened awareness would wear off after another year or two... maybe we should make it compulsory to ride a bike!

i agree wholeheartedly. but i think your suspicions are correct, re wearing off. most of us grew up on pushies, and look at how we speak about them [myself included here!]

I've given it some thought and decided you're right.

The satisfaction of being able to ride again tomorrow will always be worth far more than the satisfaction (and risk) that I'd get from taking on a moving car.

I removed the studs from my boots last night.

Hard to tell with just two lines of text and no expressions, please ignore whichever comment is not relevant.

Assuming you are being serious, good for you, always good to hear the probability that another biker will live to see another ride.

If your taking the piss Darwinian selection will answer for me, just please don't anyone encourage to road rage.
