That's not surprising in that case - I am 5'7 and the GN seems to fit me quite perfectly, as far as finding all the controls and sitting comfortably goes. I'll be interested as to the reliability and all that, I mean, is Indonesia going to be any better than China? People have their favourites and that is good, if we were all the same life would be boring. But the GN is really really shiny and nice looking......hee hee. I am still riding around and wondering what the noise I can hear in my helmet is, and then I realize it is me giggling with glee.

Yes "SOUNDS" gruntier but sound is not ervything the fxr is high revs and go not high revs and no go.

Still a sewing machine. And the Scorpio had pleanty of go. Like I said it caught me by surprise and I ride a Vmax.

There is also the well earned nickname for the fxr, "Fixer"

Just took one for a spin aswell. Sound better than the GN to start with, deeper rumble when on the throttle, Idles quiet as though. More power than I was expecting once out of first gear, I managed a small wheelie (but don't tell Bayride)

More comfortable than the GN, I'm 6'3" and had to sit on the back seat of the GN to be comfy. Only thing I found uncomfortable about the Scorpio was how narrow it is but I can see how that could be handy for commuting. No idea what it's like at motorway speeds as I only took it around the block.

Handled well, though felt I had to steer around corners more than actually lean. May have just been going to slow though.

I would prefer this over the GN but that is not worrying about weather or not there are any mechanical probs that havn't been sorted out yet. though got the sense that aslong as it gets regular care (oil, filter and so on) it shouldn't have any problems.

I also think you'll find the FXR is called a fixer for the same reason a GSXR is called a gixxer. It's a shortening of the acronym.

Go for a FXR. They're cheap, there's a few around, and I've ridden one and they're pretty quick. Plus the Movistar ones look pretty nice

May as well change the law and outlaw cruiser's and make everyone start off on a 600+ bike and watch the ACC premiums go through the roof.

If the Ginny didn't serve the market well then they wouldn't be around

I can almost match that if I don't rev the tits off the VTR..I normally get about 26km/litre - with the torque of the V-Twin I can effectively cruise using less rev's than a ginny.

At the end of the day it's all about what you want and what you like.

All it boils down to is that for someone who likes speed a fast bike is a good bike.
For someone who likes economy an economic bike is a good bike.
For someone on a tight budget a cheap bike is a good bike.

Personally I think the Ginny looks very dated and the Volty is just fugly - Suzuki should perform a facelift on their 250cc offerings as well as fitting them with V twin engines! The Yamaha looks better but not having ridden either I cannot comment on the handling/performance.

It appears to be a nice looking bike at a more reasonable price than some of the other new 250s

The GNs have been around a very long time, while they may not suit everyone they haved served the purpose they were built for well, once the scorpio has been around for 20+ years, lets look back at the history and compare...
