Thats a stink place to get pinged. I can't see why that road is 80KPH, I've done the same before and just been lucky. If I lost mine I would get a work licence and put the bike keys somewhere safe. Too tempting to speed on a bike. Tuff break.

Lost me licence for a month last year Gareth, and did it by the book.
Why?.....career made that decision for me. Something to think about.

[Pervert this is Gareth's thread....fuck off if you have nothing constructive to add]

Bugger sorry to hear about your plight G. I dunno, it's a tough call - you make your own decisions in the end anyhows. $320 in bus fares? Aren't you able to get one of those monthly passes which would set you back a whole less for unlimited travel?

Anyhows, 28 days? Meh, spend quality time with your nearest and dearest - put your feet up and plan anew! That's my two cents

So, what you're trying to say is that you were acting like a twat?

how true is this guys, its just so unfair how people doing some real bad shit out there get off lightly compared to some speeding and we get into all sorts of major shit that can really affect a decent citizen in such a bad way. at least make the first time a warning or somthing.

ok gareth, i lost my licence in old albany too almost 2 months ago on the thursday night kb ride. i had options of catching buses to work etc etc but at the end of the day its just so impractical and time consuming i decided i would just much rather take my chances and ride dirrty. so thats exactly what i did, for a whole 28 days i rode every day to work and back, no more,no less. no joy rides on weekends but as long as i had work on id ride. added to this i also stuck to the speed limit and road rules religiously because i figured it lessens your chance of being pulled over. yes everytime i rode that bike i did see at least one cop, this is part of living on the north shore as you would be aware. the paranoia was almost crippling and was hard to deal with it ruins the experiance and adds a lot of stress to life when you know what the penalty is for getting caught. so anyway after all said and done i did make it through the 28 days and now have a licence again. needless to say it will be awhile before i do 40+km the speed limit.

thats my story, ill not judge or say what you should do, i just hope my experiance helps you come to a conclusion with what to do in your situation.

Oh fine, just fine, they make funny noises and if they do it at the right time and you make sure you are not exceeding the speed limit then all is well.

Of course if no noise comes out of them at the right time and you are going faster than the speed limit then you have a very expensive fairing decoration - and in all possibilty a very expensive bit of paper called an I.O.N.

No no no, it's not like that at all my dear Scummy. I just thought it would be nice to know when the local enforcers are in proximity, so we could have a nice chat and all that.

Now how about that garage door opener?

I was acting outside the law but it doesnt take a highly skilled rider to do the speed i was doing on the given piece of road in a 'safe' manner.

I wasnt counting on it, could have been someone stupid BEFORE me, or could have been responding to a drug bust/domestic etc out in Coatesville.
