A very good point and one to be aware of (for us non lurkers and volunteers of pillion services). It has to be - and stay - above board. This is a pure and simple offer of a ride on the bike.

My wife would rightly have words with me if it was any other way...

Not on some of the rides mate!
Seriously though we could always use and appreciate some wiser heads around, feel free to come along and say g'day sometime, even if it is just at the pub.

if it wants to be really organised, it could be that in the first instance they come to MDU, and he find a suitable/reliable (not a dodgey wierdo) to take the person on the rides.

Never. Not me. Don't know who you are talking about.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I'm a reverse lurker, talk shit but don't really have a bike....

But good post MDU, I've seen a lot of threads where the guest count was higher than the user count. Come say hello guys, we don't (all) bite!

Hey I'm happy to help... my suggestion is to simply get along to the Thursday night rides and find a seat. Anyoine wearing a ring is off limits (even if they insist they're not) and anyone with a tan line where their ring should be is also off limits??

LOL - this is all getting too serious/specific, but I know what you mean.

yeh it is getting a bit serious aye... but no 1 wud run into any trouble if they came along to the ATNR looking for a ride on the back of a bike.

Well, down here in Welly there are the Cruisy Wednesday Night Rides which cater for newbies, pillions and those wishing to take it a bit easier. It is a good environment coz there are a few other people around and the location is pretty nuetral. The other good thing is that if you turn up in your car you can always decide you don't like it and leave without ever being exposed to anyone.

Another point is that this aint a dating site. The main reason people around here hook up (young 'uns term), I think there's only been a couple, I think is because of a common interest (in bikes).

You will see me in the new year at a few of these rides if you come along. I'm married and happy so no fear of any 'motives'.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them
