GSXR750K7 is 2007 model?
I somewhat agree with Hitcher, we need a few polls, one for each 'category' (yeah, bit of pidgeonholing to do), and then one final poll with the previous winners. Bit of a mammoth task but...

Kawasaki ER-6n
Suzuki GSX-R750K7

I reckon the KTM and the ER6n are the only two bikes in that list that "normal" people could live with on a day to day basis.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
hmm...call me partial to parallel twins, but i loved the ER6n when i rode it, its got heaps more power than my GS but feels smaller, better balanced, and just as heavy.
a bike for NZ and our roads me thinks.
May I ask, on what basis have you have chosen the bikes we may choose from?
Surely there is a criteria or reason to select these bikes, but I can't figure out the common denominator.
It shouldn't be too hard a task to compile a list of "new" model bikes released in 2006. And by "new" I don't mean facelifted or slightly tweaked models e.g. Suzukis with a new colour scheme and "K7" added at the end of the model descriptor.
That may produce a long list, and some sensible judging criteria should help whittle that back to an overall "winner". I agree with Jim2 that the focus should be on an accessible day-to-day bike, rather than a two-wheeled equivalent of Angelina Jolie.

Haven't seen the K7 750 and probably neither has anyone else only the K7 1000 has been released so far....
Redo the poll if you want people to vote, this poll is inconsistent and as such should be deemed invalid.
Bike of the year should be guaged from all types/brands of bikes, not just the ones that the importers let Motorcycle trader play on.
There are plenty of other bikes that should be on the list: CBR600RR, GSX-R1000, ZX6R etc etc
Its for the Bike of the Year so the criteria for judging is always going to be weird, how can a Supersport bike be compared with a cruiser or a super tourer or even a learner bike?
I never really care for bike of the year as they mean absolutely sweet f-all to most people, as most have their own opinions of what bike is best for them.
How many bike enthusiasts buy a bike based on what an NZ magazine tells them?
Viva La Figa
What about Royal Enfield ??? One if not the largest selling bike in Britain a year or so ago??

The new Harley range are 2007 models. Hence the reason why they're not included I guess.
