Good stuff re the tyres... riding in the wet is now a simple case of experience. are you are gaining confidence riding in the dry, start with a little bit of wet riding... little by little - things will click into place.

    OK FOlKS...

RAIN OR SHINE THIS IS ON TODAY !

Part of learning to ride a bike is being able to ride in all conditions with confidence! So if it still looks like rain, bring your wet weather gear and lets get out there and practice!!!

If it is raining, I wont be able to come. I have only been on the road a few times and progressed to the motorway the other day with trepidation. I am a real newbie. I was happy enough to head west on the motorway today with an escort, but I am not at all keen to do this in the rain.
I figure if I make rules about not riding in the rain for the first wee while until I get road and bike experience under my belt, then I should stick to them. Gotta stay safe whilst I am new on the road (and of course when I'm an old fart to). I can move to wet riding when I have more confidence in my own ability on the bike.
If I'm not there - have lots of fun.

The only "bikers" on this site that have never had to ride home in the wet on a supposedly fine day are either not real bikers (also known and fair weather riders), or they only ride in countries that don't have rain.
I have gone out in blue skies only to get rained on in ten minutes.
My knees are getting better at telling the weather but I still go prepared for anything.
Many was the shirt ruined by wearing leather in rain that fell unexpectedly.

Awsome idea guys and gals, I will DEFINATLY be along to one of these once I get up and going. When will the next one be?(I can't make it to the 10th of Jan one unfortunatly)
Is there any charge for the services of the tutors?I'm guessing not?Maybe a cold one once we get back to Ms Qs would be payment enough?

Good thinking people, looking forward to the next one

Some people dont respond well to knocking the sense into them, even with a baseball bat. Oh well, there are other ways

No charge, I organised this to help new riders learn from 'older' more experienced riders. The better we become at our craft the safer we become and utimatley more enjoyment we get.

Im sure the mentors would appreciate a beer although past weeks, some have got hugs and 'man kisses'. A little disturbing but yeah we aim to have fun!!

Thanks anyway BigDog. I think I will sit this one out. It just wont be the same without my bike. There are plenty of other nights I can come out. Just wanted to say a big cheers to those who organise these nights and who do the teaching - I think they are an awesome idea. A bit of bling for you disco dan.
