I thought I'd treat my wife to a ticket to a show, so the kids and I took her to see Crusty Demons last night. Probably not that kinda show she would have chosen herself, but she thoroughly enjoyed it none the less.

As for valentines day itself - It really pisses me off when industry makes up yet another 'special' day in an attempt to get more money out of us. I'll take my good lady out, buy her stuff, and tell her the things girls like to hear when I choose. Not when some marketing tosser from a card company tells me I should.

Valentines - what is it gonna cost you this year? I don't consider myself to be a romantic kinda guy nor do I get into manufactured Merkin 'season's', I do however reckon that Valentines day is another good day to show 'em you do actually care. I don't go nuts (with cash or presents) but I do make a little effort. Doing things like getting a box of chocolates (she loves chocolate - I don't eat it), or maybe give her a foot rub, and send the kids off to their single aunties for the night (it's ok she usually needs some cheering up). Having a relationship usually means putting some sort of effort in...

The other side of the coin is that if you don't do or get something - it'll cost you. So what's it goona cost you?

I can be romantic and also a complete utter bastard. However I'm not having anyone telling me exactly when I should buy Mrs IL4 flowers and shyte, I want it to be a total surprise eh. True, I got a card this year and I did not do anything, its not like your partner is going to love you any less and it would be a very shallow individual who would just because they recieved nothing on Feb the 14th. I believe valantines day is just another bollox thing made up by the retailer to try to squeeze more cash out of the minions...

P.S. I'm not single...
