other than that my mentor will have to give his view on how it went .. from mine blardy primo ... [/QUOTE]

Yep, a good first up start alright. Nice and confident, no stalls, and even signs of a lean around those bends! And you overtook me very safely. Not even phased by the truck coming in the opposite direction, that's yet another advantage of a bike, you can move over if you have to!

The term 'two smoker' - well, very appropriate, and a lovely shade too

And I must say I'm very impressed with the quality of those Yamaha indicators

100 k. Sure was in places, just go at your own pace

As for melted tar, you're onto it. Try and remember that it's there at this time of year and try not to hit it at speed leaned over. And that goes for an infinite number of things that are, and will be on the road. Painted lines, manhole covers, animals (I saw a loose cow on the way home!), stone chips, gravel, stuff that falls off cars and trailers, farm vehicles, and of course cars! Always take road works advisory signs seriously, same goes for corner advisories! Watch out for shit (literally) off the back of stock trucks and runs. Apart from being slippery, it sticks to your fairing

Just know your limits, bikes and personal. Be hyper aware of your environment at all times.

Read the rode code and never do anything illegal

There's so much more, learn all you can from all the talent and experience out there. This is just the beginning and you never stop learning.

    Above all ENJOY

could not see the trail behind me so I will take your word for it LOL & yes well umm those indicators .. must remember to cancel yes we know that one needs work .. & yeah I was going at what felt like a comfy pace for me, just still aware that a few bits & peices still need work but honestly the smile just would not leave muh face

yes on our ride we also had pot holes, loose gravel, & parked cars with trailer & other traffic & person crossing the road ..so yes started keeping an eye out for potential hazards & the wet tar was on the last bend & still needed to turn the corner so de- accelerated, & went carefully through it

from another post found this http://www.drivinginstructor.co.nz/i.../test_menu.php its great, only got a few questions wrong on my first attempt (& not read the road code yet)

bikes/horses/life you learn something new every day, & its so much damn fun. But also big thanks to my Mentor for changing the broken clutch lever & test riding her & either me following him or him following me. (must practice turning off the indicators ) LOL its great getting that first lil ride under the belt not so nervous now .. just looking forward to getting us both legal enough to ride it (even though she is a 350 )

after AJ has changed the sprockets & chain only things left to get her warrented is to fix speedo & lights on the dash ... any clues guys on getting these ones sorted ??
