Dare I say it? He's actually looking for a car.....
He's looking for a car for the best reason possible.
It's true my oriental friend. A car is indeed what I am now looking to invest money into.

And what Jim says is also correct. It just doesn't make logical sense for a drummer to own a motorcycle ahead of a car. How can one carry his beloved instrument on one's shoulder, when one's beloved instrument is bigger than one's previous motorcycle, and any other motorcyle one might own.

But to me, KB and biking altogether is much like Hotel California. One can check out, but thou can never leave. At this point in time, I've just checked out, but visiting regularly. I have not left the world of two wheels for good, but it may be a while before I enter back into it.

A shame in same ways, but a turn for the better, logically. Anyone have a Telstar wagon or the like? Has to be manual.

Budget would be about $3000 or less. That Mondeo is sweet, but it's auto. Need/want a manual 'cause I haven't sat my restricted yet. Haven't even sat my learners to be honest, but that's besides the point. That site looks ok, might have a bit of a deeper look soon.
    Cheers mate.

No worries - hey the website isn't even 1/2 of it. The car fiar is bigger than Ben Hur (fucken massive). Failing that we can stop into see FROSTY, or the car yards on Greenlane Road...

    Bound to be something.

    Or Trademe of course...

Yeah, been lookin' at tardme. Goo thing with tardme, compared to that site above is that you can search SW's only, under $4000 or whatever.

Will keep looking. Haven't got any money yet, so no point in getting too serious about buying one now.

EDIT: A couple of auctions on watchlist now.

    Cool

Hxc - Good luck in finding the perfect station wagon for you....

Would a van do, one where you can take the seats out if neccessary.... or leave them in.... depending on how many seats you require.

Finding a manual is harder to find these days...... as many imports are mostly automatic.....

Oddly crashe, it's actually easier to carry drum gear in a vehicle with seats. Despite what people think, the drums themselves are quite fragile, and the last thing you want it a 40kg case full of stands careening into a bass drum during a hard stop.

With the seats in place you can use seatbelts and tie downs to stop everything moving about, and the seat cushions stop the drums from getting damaged in transit. I've had a wooden snare drum demolished by Air NZ. It was in an SKB hard case, and the case wasn't all that damaged, but the drum inside was smashed beyond belief. It had been dropped 40ft out of a storage unit.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

You have a sensible head on your shoulders. Damn, I think an old soul got into you and you still need to have two wheels somewhere to ride ( even if it's just a pushy ), wasn't too long ago I remember you trying to vault parking meters and other such young shenanigans!

Good luck on finding four wheels of convinience! But, betcha every time you see a bike on the road - you'll feel the need to "twist the wrist!"

On ya fella, wish more young people were like you!

Well there is the other side of things...

How many girls can you fit comfortably on a motorcycle? And how can you annoy old people with loud 'hooligan' music on a motorcycle?

It's not just the instrument I play that has put me in this direction you know. Being a teenage male has helped too.

Nah don't want a van. Partly 'cause the reason that Jim2 mentioned, and partly 'cause the reason that most of them are gutless wonders and gas guzzlers.

I am really pleased that this is finally being sorted with the stupid cow!!! HxC - You are right - you can't leave!!! Good luck with the SW. You can always get a GoldWing - you can crank up the stereo on that and scare the neighbours. I am sure you could fit at least two girls on it plus your drumkit in one of the panniers!!!

Have you seen the size of his kit??????? (drum kit, that is)
It barely fits in my Berlina wagon.
