Fuel economy

Just wondering what sort of fuel economy people get out of their bikes. I am commuting on a single cylinder 250cc 4 stroke, and it is costing 4.8cents per kilometer. Which bikes are better/worse? how much does engine type/cc rating affect fuel consumption?

Geez, I ride an 1800cc fatass cruiser - fuel economy? What's that dude?

But seriously, I find it just as good for mileage as my previous GSXR. How you ride it makes a big difference.

The light goes on i fill it up both in car and on bike.....sod the monetry return, just spank it till ya run out of gas

Remember ride it like ya stole it or
Drive it like ya stole it (for them with cars aswell)

Hmmmmm wonder if those two items are related?
I get 400km out of 15 litres. dont know how much that is.
On the TDR its more like 150km out of 15litres. That bike uses more fuel than it has a right to.

And I find fuel economy an invalid point anyway. While it may be less km/l on the bike than car, I travel WAY more km on the bike, just coz I feel like going for a ride.

now when people say it must be cheaper to run the bike!

Edit: I think it is about 19 km/l tho

I get about 20km/l on my cbr which works out at about 7c per km. I think thats pretty good

I get about 17 Km /l on the CB.

Cost of running including all maintenance, insurance, rego etc it is smack between my Odyssey and Mitsi Galant. worked out over 18 months of running calced back to $/Km there is about 5 cents difference /km from best to worst.

CB is by far the most fun though.

My SRX250 used to return between 25 and 30kpl. Ridden fairly hard . About 80mpg in eal numbers. About what would be expected of a 250cc single.

BMW is absolutely consistent at 16.n kpl no matter how ridden. ffwabbitt varies wildly, from 18 to 24 kpl.

And then there are the two strokes. Don't ask, just hitch up the tank trailer. Maybe 10 kpl.
