Seems there is a definite ground swell in the Eyetie's direction...
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Have to agree Dover. I rode a K4 Gixxer and I just didn't enjoy it.

Rode the K6 Gixxer and signed up for one the same day.

    A massive difference.

I don't believe Colapop's post was directed at any particular model of gixxer. Correct me if I'm wrong, but my K4 GSX-R1000 is still a GSX-R correct?

Here's my $0.02, not that it's worth fuck all.

Bikers now days have a better disposable income. When GSXRs were at their height, they were the best bikes for the money (still are) and the only available Italian sports twins were stupidly over priced, unreliable and not very fast. I mean, you might as well have bought a Harley.

Now, with the RSV having been around 8 or 9 years, they've been developed over a long period, therefore cutting production costs and therefore the retail prices. They're reliable and fairly affordable now and offer a cool riding experience, without being too intimidating. So it's suits girls.

It is also, in todays PC enviroment, more socialy acceptable to root boys. More so than 10-15 years ago.

So, the crux is, girls and poofters ride RSVS. Real blokes ride Gixxers.

    'Nuff said.

Are there some sensitive Gixxer owners out there? May have made the wrong choice?

I rest my case... If a K4 model is an "old shitty gixxer" then (according to your logic) everything except the K7 model is old and shitty now. I'd rather own the RSVR which might stay current a bit longer and it comes with all the good bits.

For the record Tuonos are a bit different. They're for guys who know they can't handle a Gixxer, but don't want to atend Elton John look alike partys either.

it comes with good stickers, on shit made in china "under licence".

    there's a fuckin difference.

    let's call a spade a spade.

for $22,000 a gixxxer with a tickle would spank a stock RSVR and still have change for the celebratory piss up and a packet of smokes.

neukirchner ain't doing to bad on a k6 either.
