Sensei's take on this would be interesting since he is qualified to comment intelligently on the topic having moved from the Gixxer to the 'prillia.

His Gixxer being one of the rare ones that was traded, not written off.
Yes it would be interesting Pritch, I too once owned a RSVR (yes Sensei before all this R-Factory shit that your struggling with) & no they're not becoming the next GSXR, heaven forbid It's just the people that buy Aprilia know what a good road bike is when they see one As has been said before "any wanker can go fast in a straight line"
As mad as a spider, and twice as hairy !

So is this what are you saying?
The GSXR is fast in a straight line but the RSVR is designed for cornering?

I've got a GSXR1000 and only a (working) right hand. I must be super fast through the corners.

Up to the individual rider no doubt but I know that I can ride our RSVR faster on tight twisties than my inline4 due to its power delivery.
Open roads the gixxer/inline will toast the RSVR/twin.
In some ways it's a pity that the RSVR has lost its exclusiveness but on the other hand it's good to see a decent twin that is obtainable to the mere mortals

Oh...yes I have owned a gixxer but I'm better now

My point being is that now they are becoming a "common" bike like what the gixxer is.
Personally I'd rather ride a bike that isn't common but each to their own

I've never bought into the common thing, no disrespect intended. I couldn't give a damn if there were a million GSXR's on the road, as long as I'm happy riding it I'll keep on as I am.

Ditto. I didn't buy an RSVR for the envy factor or because I want to be exclusive - I bought it because it a) turns me on to look at, and b) suits my riding style.

People are buying the RSVR is because they're the best bang for your buck in the v-twin market, and DAMN do they look sexy

Got to agree - on a bang for buck basis and for shear adrenalin rush I got to hand it to the GSXR. Go fast parts are cheap, the knowledge is redily available - Shaun Harris, Robert Taylor and Ray Clee have honed their skills on GSXRs and know their shit very well on them -
So who gives a toss how many there are, they bloody go no denying that.

The rider has never been tuned properly - needs a service.
