    Cool Clubs in Wellington

    Hi all

I've just bought a Honda VTR1000 after quite a few years off bikes (and in those horrible four wheel alternatives!). Can anyone out there suggest a good club to join in Wellington to meet people for weekend rides? I'm not a speed freak (yet) and haven't been in Wellington that long so I'm keen to meet some new people.

    Any tips appreciated.

    Thanks

It's hard for me to recommend anything *other* than KB but we would be remiss in not telling you about the Ulysses Motorcycle Club.

If you are over 50 and are determined to age disgracefully they may consider you for membership.

I think it was them that we saw out in Wellington today about 50 bikes strong. They all waved too! Well maybe they waved at Nasty on her cruiser and not me on my sprotsbike - but I'd only think that if I was paranoid and defensive and had low self esteem and hated myself and felt inadequate ... alright?

You've only got to be over 40 to join Ulysses. Check the Wellington Branch out here http://www.ulysses.org.nz/wellington/index.html and the National site here http://www.ulysses.org.nz/

As others have said though KB is the place to organise rides and meet up like you want to do without all the extra rules and stuff that the formal clubs bring.
    Cheers

You're most welcome to come along on this ride http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=46601
I understand you're not new to riding, but it can also be for new to KB people, and an awesome opportunity to meet some of the locals!

Yeah, Ulysses ride 2 (sometimes 3 rides per month) usually on the 2nd & 4th Sundays, but there is also rides organised by TSS, E-riders (out of Motorad), Classic Bikes, & Hogs...not that I've ever ridden with any of those groups.

Wgtn Ulysses is very good for 'born-agains' as they ride as a group and keep the speed down.

Who'd want to join a motorcycle club? They have rules and shit. Here we just have shit.
