All this from a plonker that rides an old air cooled twin of his own. How far up the food chain is the Guzzi from a tractor? Me I don't care what any one rides nor would I ever diss another bike. I can tell you which ones I've owned and didn't like but even then its about taste, your own body size and shape and all sorts of things that decides whether you feel comfortable on a bike. Its that character thing again, what one person thinks is character another just thinks of as poor excuses. If Harleys were such crap they wouldn't be selling record numbers year by year. Funny - Guzzi doesn't sell that well.

Well maybe my thoughts on Harleys are different...I think that maybe because the Harleys Ive seen are being ridden by "scum". If I was to ride with some other Harley riders my thoughts would change. However I can only judge on what Ive seen.

Round here I'm guessing most of the Harley's are ridden by executive types and these days they wave at us other bikers like we are part of the clan, more so than the European bike riders do. As for waving the funny thing I'm finding these days there are now so many scooters on the road and I wave at them all coz they got two wheels, and do they look surprised when I treat them like a fellow biker.
    Cheers

Rather amusing really, all the angst about Harleys versus sprotsbikes, BEARS versus Jappa etc.

Of course, as every real biker knows, all those four stroke things are just pale, smokeless wannabe imitations of real bikes.

Yeah, it's pretty funny to me. I tend to egg him on.

Maybe no Harleys have ever waved to him so he got all bitter.

From what I gather, he's a lunatic on his bike anyway (when it goes)

They are also the same people who went apeshit about the C50 being made Bike of the Century - they just haven't got a clue....but plenty of opinions.

You can't get spare parts or accessories for Urals.

A Chang Jian is what you want. Retro as, and you can get all the goodies to go with it. And it's a side valve. Nothing gives cred like side valves. With a side valve you can sneer at ANY other bike, except of course a two stroke, they will sneer at you cos you still have those silly valves, n camshafts, n all the other useless stuff that goes round n round n round n up n down n up n n n n .......

Oooh, I have seen them, thanks for the tip. Those cylinder heads look brutal and primitive, wonderful. I will do some research.
Now, back to thread topic of why we should hate all other types of bikers....

have a cry... its generally a pisstake. Dont read into things so much, especially if it was spoken around this joint.

People will always tend to prove that they will say what makes them feel bigger/better/cooler (case in point: skidmark). Whether this comes down to arrogance, bias or low IQ is your decision.

I say shit about honda's and cruisers etc all the time, but as the saying goes "dont beat it til you've tried it" - i rode a honda and quite enjoyed it.
