    Cafe racers

Just embarking on building a Cafe Racer Project bike.

Are there any local groups of riders (Auckland) who have same interest?

Keen to see pix of bikes , collections etc and share knowledge (ie. I will want to pick your brains.)

What kind of bike were you doing?

Here is one I made out of a 1971 Laverda. It was fun and was very pleased with the end result, hours of polishing and setting up/glassing the fairing and making things like the dash with inset LED warning lights etc.

Woohoo, my ol' man had a minter. Chocolate brown it was...I wonder why they don't paint bikes that colour anymore......?(grimace, shiver)
The bloody thing sounded the dogs bollox, but being a few years old the "sport" tag was a bit of a misnomer and the "super" that preceded it was a downright lie!
They are a classically pretty bike though and well worth spending a bit of time on.

    Nice work Laava.

Beautiful bike and you will be the first person I ask on how you got the engine looking so mint. A lot of elbow polish has gone into this bike methinks.
