Fun ride this morning - it had almost everything - but no rain!! Good to catch up with Cloggy, Neshi, EyeG and Katiepie. Eugene was here and then gone -:shit: did you make it back off the beach, Eug?? Devo swung by for the blat round the inlet...
Some of the slower sections out to Makara were a good learning experience!! I'll post some pics in a mo - just trying to get the uploader app working
I'll leave Cloggy to update the thread about Katie's mystery fluid!!

it was great fun riding with you today. Weather was great and it looked like it was gonna be a beautiful day. Unfortunately the moment I rode into Welly the skies darkened and I even had to wipe some drops of my vizer!
Did some shopping to clean my bike, but when it's gonna rain there is not much of a point doing it. Maybe just to get the salt off.. Btw, Wellington Motorcycles is funny sometimes. When I crashed my bike something like 8 weeks ago I went there to order new parts, ETA 6 weeks (already ridiculously long) went there today and they still didn't have my parts. Ill be getting a call Monday as to what is taking them so long.

ahhhhhh that feels better - got a good ride out of my system. Cheers DJ for getting us sorted. And you bloody bet me to the Avalon turn off you cheeky bugga! Timing huh?
As usual, got to my road and it absolutely bucketed down, and now that I'm home, and soaked, its stopped. Pretty funny actually, and what even stranger is that I just loved being out in it. Not a car to be seen, no wind and the rain filling up the Akatarawa Valley making it look so beautiful. Enjoyed the ride greatly, cheers. You O.K Eugene? ;)
Hahahaha oh dear, I'm not going to live the "fluid"down am I?
Now for a peaceful afternoon of cleaning the bike, and hanging in the garage with my awesome dogs. What a great day. Only down side was that my phone got soaked in my pocket 5 minutes from home and now wont work. Whoops!

Looks like another catch up ride 4 me or a flag it,
Hi Denis.
Sorry about missing you. Did you make it out in the end? We had a few minutes down at Makara in the AMAZING wind, then decided to go and find a nice cafe to have a coffee and bite to eat in. Went out to Petone via Karori. Didn't have cell phone reception out at the beach to call you. Cheers for the heads up about the cafe times out there. But we were also trying to beat the afternoons rain.

Yep got there never caught up to you lot, Rd was bloody awful, cop slowed me up on way in. A very dirty bike now cleaned
Shame I missed the group ride, but I thought it might be rude to kick the girlfriend out of the house early enough to make the meet. I pottered out to Makara anyway and got there about 10:30. Hell of a breeze out there. I think I passed Eugene on my way in but not sure. That road from jville was a mess! I was practising slow riding on the way in and cornering on the way out to Karori. Carried on from Welly central around the bays to Owhiro Bay before popping into Motorad and Wellington Motorcycles to do some daydreaming.

Hey Guys and Gals - sounds as though you had fun out on the road. I also spent the day on the road - doing photoshoot for ACC rider safety website. Started the day in gale force winds, followed by torrential rain, slippery roads, a bit of diesel, bit of mud. Made for an interesting day. Now I desperate for a REAL ride on the yella beauty. If anyone interested in ride tomorrow, somewhere, anywhere - hands up here.

Had a good ride to Castlepoint, although there were quite a few sections of road that just don`t dry out this time of year...real wet and slick, you can smell the dampness.
Coolish and a bit windy at the beach, but the dose of fresh sea air is good.

A heck of a lot of people had them back in the day and have good memories of em....
I replaced the throttle cable tonight and the choke cable tonight on the Trophy as the old one was getting a bit sticky.. NOS choke (real deal from the 1960's) and top quality new throttle cable - $21 each... I love old bikes...

Hey guys and gals. Would have loved to join you today, but alas I have literally been dropped on a tropical island by an Australian Navy boat, with food and water for 5 days. ... I am looking for my friend Wilson....round like a soccer ball....lol!!
. I am currently on Viatapu, the largest (but least populated) island in the Tuvalu group. Sitting way north of Fiji, and just south of the equator. You may see on TV3 news over the next few days / weeks that NZ Army is doing an exercise over there. i am part of the recce team and now just have to wait until the remainder of troops and equipment turn up.
I have just walked from the jetty / landing area, to our base at Motoufoua high school. Weather is 32 deg and about 60% humidity.... so it is like Gisborne at xmas!! The sea water is like swimming in a lukewarm bath, and the tropical fish are amazing!!
Looking forward to catching up with you all on the weekend of 17 - 18 July.....

Staying on this island for the duration. I hope to get my fishing line out this afternoon!! Its a tough life....waiting here. It is a custom here that NO work is done on Sundays. I would hate to upset the local population by doing any work today!!
It is only sunny there this weekend because I am not there!!
