Cannot believe no ones posted here since July 25th. 100 pages of BFTP banter and then stop.

Hello are we all still alive!!!! Can we have some updates from those coming out of Hibernation and whose in for Classic Bike meet (BTFP rally maybe) last weekend of November???

2 from this place Murray, checked out the latest addition to Gillians stable?
Yes bit of an indictment aint it, that so little has happened over the last month or so.

Rally.... Hmmmmmm Just back form the Cold Kiwi... great weekend

It's been a while since I posted here and plenty of things have changed... My bike got written off at the end of June. I did a superman over the front of the car and walked away with a couple of very minor bruises. I replaced it with another tidy 900 and have just bought yet another one with the plan of having 2 running 900's by the end of the year.

I was a father again 2 days after the accident so have little garage and riding time outside of my commute to work.

Good to see some familiar faces still about

Havent got a bike here - yet, but bought a nice old AP5 to tool around in as traffic was a bit daunting at first but OK now. Can some one direct me to the current thread please. Psy i tried to PM but had to re register and site wont allow yet. Cheers TW

This thread seems to be long gone as you can see by the time between posts. Most gossip and general crap for the BFTP is done in the group section. If you are not able to access the BFTP group pm caseye as he controls the group and membership is required.

Good to hear from you

cheers

Hey there Black Dog aka Status Quo, great to hear from you. As others have said contact Caseye to apply for the membership at the BFTP Riders Social Group pages here at KB. That's where most of the action is these days... although there has been some action on the road as well since the weather picked up :D

Black Dog
18th January 2011, 22:37
OK thanks will contact Caseye and register. Good to hear from you guys also. Taumarunui run was memorable and enjoyable in hindsight despite me taking an unrelaible machine. It did not die in vain however - the CV carbs and front calipers ended up on the GS, improving it quite a bit.

BFTP is alive and well but not on the main forum. Its now being moderated by Dodgyiti, who has just cleared out the 'clubhouse' of all the deadwood.
Next gathering is at the Classics on Sunday.

Hows Aussie treating you???? I remember you limping back on your bike from Traumanui.

New 4 brush full time magnetic Starter motor winging it's way form the US of A, so as soon as it's here it'll be install and ride, tank and side covers almost repainted and then it's off to the paint doctors for some petrol protective coatings that work.
Clutch only other thing that I'm still a bit iffy about, cmoore you ever had to source one for your old girls?

test rode my new painted bike yesterday, went better than last time (carbs out, clean pilots etc)
altho still copping a fuel starvation issue..thought it was low float heights initially, but they were in spec
might take it for a burn with a rag for a fuel cap or similar..see if its a breather issue

Ya, starter has arrived from the States, been just 2 weeks since I ordered it and hey presto, right one an all, I think.Ha have to take her out to the shed and introduce it to the coal burner.
Sparky is all I require now to get her mobile, paint fixed in next two weeks, properly this time me and my good mate have the good oil on how to petrol proof it, so we are going to do it.
3rd time lucky aye.

Well the official attendance at the BFTP HD meet. an official offshoot of the 5 year anniversary ride totaled approx ten bikes and their respective riders. Not a bad turn out for an outfit that boasts a membership of over 80.
Bunch a bloody slackers, Own bike still not road going butt I still managed to attend and on a proper period bike, thank you my darling wife for the borrow of your Nonda.
First time on a bike for a couple of months, hate the coal burner not being operational, not long to go now.
There will be pics to confirm numbers and of course the sad fact that all of the machines ridden for the entire days event were all made by the Krauts, So you ugly buggers, I don't want to hear excuses, when I propose a ride in the not too distant future, wanna get as many of us back together as we can, so keep it in mind folks.
Good to see you out on the track Volty, enjoying the day, well done mate.

caseye
18th July 2013, 21:27
At precisely 7.30pm this evening the coal burner ROARED back into life, her internal starting mechanisms are all in the proper places and she starts like a thoroughbred now.
No coughing or spluttering and more importantly, no horrible clunking and metal on metal grinding noise form the nether regions.
Talk about a quick and painless starting operation now.
So, for n ow we're back up and mobile, paint nearly completed for the third time and this time it all goes back to "the" workshop where my good friend and I shall administer the proper (once and for all) and fully functioning paint protection system.
Then it's up , up and away.
So look out for me quietly motoring past won't you.
