Biker culture, politics and general issues.
So I thought id give an update of the RGV which ive being projecting over the last week both cosmetic wise and engine wise. Its going pretty well. My new powervalves should be here soon as im giving the bike an overhaul on its PV's seeing that i dont like the look of my current ones, scored and what not, so time to replace as i dont want PV failure, have had one failure of the PV's in RHS cylinder. So new pulleys, brushes, springs, cables, shafts and what not are all going to be ...
I have decided to put Zensen and myself on diets as I am heading back off to A Grade. After winning B Grade for the second time I'm sort of in the position of being really too fast for B but not quite fast enough for A Grade. So to hopefully gain the 1-2 second improvement in times I'm aiming to slim the bike by 20 kg. Amy and I removed the fairing and mount, losing 4.5 kg. Next I'm going to remove the rear cone off the exhaust and see how much that saves versus noise (as in I'll ...
Got the 1st for Motorad B Grade and a 3rd for King of Kaitoke and to top this off I managed a not last and not lapped A Grade race on a very wet track; The day started with my daughter cross-threading one of the front caliper bolts while helping me change to wets. Luckily we found another bolt, after a few words were spoken under my breath. Practice race; Started on pole and got a nice clean run. First points race; Started on pole (as Mark hadn't ...
The weather forecast was pretty crappy for today but the Ulysses Club still had a ride on…..well at least the Wgtn Branch did…..well…..6 Wgtn members went riding. The programmed ride was up Route 52 to Pongaroa, then out to Pahiatua for lunch but after arriving at Brown Owl in marginal conditions, we decided to play it by ear and see what the weather dealt us, so with that in mind, Ken led out over the Rimutakas and I bought up the rear. After a sedate ride over the ...
Hi it is Anthony here from Drury tyres/Drury Performance Centre on Sunday the 24th of July 10:30am we are having another charity ride, meeting at 257 GT STH Rd Drury. This year we aim to purchase a special needs vechicle for Lisa Marie Jeptha, her parents do not own a vechicle and the family would love to get out and about to spend time with Lisa before she passes. Lisa is terminally ill and is not expected to make it to her 12th birthday, she has muscular dystrophy and she is producing ...
What a great day for a ride, so it’s not surprising that we had 30 bikes turn up for the Uly ride to the Martinborough Wind Farm. I’d checked the tyres yesterday and put a little in the rear, so this morning I just needed to stow my gear on the bike and leave, pootling to Rimutaka to fill-up before meeting at Brown Owl. The temp did dip to 5º so I pulled the glove liners out when I got to Brown Owl, checked the right ear plug as the sounds didn’t seem to be working too well, took ...
For some time now, I’ve been keen to have a go at doing a ‘Police Rodeo’, which is a slow handling event requiring balance and control to negotiate a course marked out with cones, as opposed to the Harley Style Rodeos which are more like a ‘Top-Town’ fun day on bikes. The cops make it look pretty easy on You-Tube, throwing their big Electraglides around what appears to be some sort of maze and some googling revealed rules and courses, so over the last few months, I have checked out ...
Well' I have been meaning to start this for a while now and it was the Aero that got my arse into gear to get this one sorted.... For a while now I have had an CB250RS stuck away in the back of the shed to use as a project base,so all parts not needed have been or are on Trademe and as a result I have already recouped the amount I paid for the bike.................. First thing I decided was that I want a old school style with some modern twists The ...
