    Amen, dudes.
If it's not cruisers you want to talk about you're in the wrong basket, right?

Not all of us want to be baring our butt cracks to everyone we pass, head down and leaning on our wrists. Ask an old biker about arthritis. Jeez, it's not hard to find a groove on KB that suits your taste, I don't go into the sports bike section and go on about the lack of forward controls, low rpm torque and cookie-cutter styling do I?

    No!

    I can do it here.

so can the Kawasaki vn2000 & Honda vtx 1800. Not really the point though. If we want to race off @ the speed of sound we have the power , do we do it ? no ....... well not often....

There are many riders who prefer the cruiser type riding postion, just as there are many riders who like to be head down and ass up.

So what? Each bike has its own purpose and each rider will chose a bike that they will feel comfortable on while enjoying their own style of riding. If any person feels inclined to put down another rider purely because of the style of bike they like to ride, then that would tell more about that person than it would about the one they are trying to put down.

However, If that cruiser happens to be a ....Harley
    Time to ride

not exactly blink of an eye material really, yep they will get up there but not at the fastest rate of knots and woe betide you if a corner happens to turn up... 'cept maybe on the st rod
but that is the whole point, they are cruisers not rockets, they are*meant* to be different. As long as they can happily pass when needed whats the problem?

You know, for a Buell rider, you can make a lot of sense at times...

I wasn't sure I'd like a cruiser after the 600F - I really enjoyed the sports ride but did find it a bit lacking in comforts for the long boring bits and was always looking for a set of corners to carve. However, I LOVE our C50T! It's a completely different ride and we just relax and cruise and I could ride it all day! After the 177km I did on the Cruiser Run last Sunday, I rode to Hamilton Monday, staying the night in Morrinsville and coming home Tues morn. A round trip of 360km. Rather than being tired and sore as I would have been on the GSX-F, I found myself thinking about popping up to Wellsford to visit my sister for the afternoon! I didn't, as I had too much to do, but the Boulevard just makes me look for excuses to keep riding! Of course I'm in the "older age group" now, and not the speed-freak young hoon I was 30 years ago! My whole life is more relaxed and easy going these days.

Natural, relaxed ergonomics, "Twist and Go" top gear torque and roomy for bum and feet. Lots of luggage space and a happy pillion. What more could you want? Ok, maybe a GSX-R750 for solo fun from time to time, but as a daily ride or for longer trips, the C50T is almost the perfect bike! Just gotta watch the corners a bit...

I'm sure most of the banter and mud-slinging is just fun and everyone I've actually met in person, just appreciates the comaraderie and joy of riding and the variety of people and bikes only adds to the whole bike scene! I never take it seriously, far more important stuff to worry about! Like is the day a good one to go for a ride...

it probably comes from riding a cruiser for 10 years... and i can still appreciate a nice low slung comfy ride, tho the Buell takes my breath away most of the time, dont think i could go back now.

I thought it was ME that took your breathe away??

Anyway, I appreciate both types of bikes, see value in each but for long distances at modest speed prefer my T-Sport.

Can't wait to get the Xn going though and try it this coming summer (should we get a summer!)

Oddly enough, the baiting and banter doesn't go both ways. I usually reply to the never-ending stream of "piss on the cruiser" threads, and often take a good-natured swipe at the sports-bikers in response. The abusive red reps soon arrive....

The sneering at other's rides is something I can't understand. Vive la difference, I say.....

For me a cruiser fits my riding style (not to mention my short legs). Laid back, coasting along, enjoying the scenery.

Yeah I don't get the sports bike riders bitchin on about how uncool cruisers are, why then are they reading in this forum? I like my sporty, but I want a buell too, and I'd love to restore an old TT500. Variety is the spice of life as they say.

well i was not going say anything , but i proved it on sunday cruiser ride stopped for a biker who a got a bee in his helmet , then had to catch the pack , started off then found the pack was getting away long straight ahead hit the gas on this beast and from 100km to 230km in a blink of an eye holy sh........t this beast can move , bike was at red lined at 6500rpm , rev limit came in, my air modes and new fuel jets worked out of this world. but cruiser need to cruise up to speed ,what a load of shit, i'll take off 10km for speedo ver.220km , 700 pounds of bike at over 130+ mph , bike was stable as hell , the bike my not corner that well due to the wide 280 rear and length of bike but hit that gas and you will red line this beast in seconds, you can say the m109r is a sports cruiser , but it is still a cruiser. the vtx and rocket3 and a few other big bikes would be in the same class.sports bike my go faster but the heavy weight cruisers are getting faster and faster and they have more bling, woman love the look and feel of a big cruiser , you sport's boy's are missing out on the best things in life , seeing the future

wich one in that group can only do just over 220kmh? I would think 260 would be the lowest figure.

Last time I saw street Rod on a windy road I was passing him. The Vmax only hndles like shit when you compare it to sportsbikes and sports tourers. When compared to other cruisers it's a step above most of them.

So did you swap bikes and then try the same bit of road?
Sort of to take rider skill/nerve out of the equation??

After all, I beat a cbr900 through a twisty bit once and I was on an iron-head Sportster......

first time I've ever been on that road so it wouldn't have been that. Rider skill and bravery/stupidity might have had something to do with it.

Aswell as the fact that if I crash it's only a $8,000 bike where as if he crashes it's a $25,000 bike.
