Viffermans link has a super and turbo charged one, now this is an idea i like, pity it can only do deisel.
What i want to see in a bike is a supercharged direct injection petrol engine. KTM were working on a direct injection two stroke at some point but it must have stopped, pity.
I've seen some of the new BMW cross road bikes with a funny setup. Trying to find something out about them now, (I have seen some on the motorway and the engine sticks out side of the frame on both sides.... looked very ugly! But thats not to say it is because they have this type of design, it might be some other reason why the engine over hangs both sides.... )

True, I guess it might make the gearbox sit out allot further then normal motox engines making it a bit heavier on one side ? I don't know

Ahh i see way cool.... man they stick out a far bit though aye when you see them in a frame... keep thinking when im on the motorway and they go down the white line if a car was a bit to close and they hit it .... be like game over.... normally the only thing that over hangs is the mirror... hit that and just keep rolling through traffic

that army one is even cleverer. It's almost like 4 pistons in 2 cylinders thus doubling stroke for each bore therefore more cc's... more power. It's not really like a subie or beemer boxer as they're 4 stroke but as bogan said i can't see the advantage over a twin 2 stroke except for the opposing piston idea... that's cool

It is when you refer to the orignal question......... " Built in the 1920's by Robert Bourke its a twin cylinder 1stroke .. it fires every stroke the guys on on thumper were looking at it for possible dirt bike applications "

    No fool here thanks... >>
