I'd be keen to take the G/S for a look, mainly cause of the more suited tyres. Dunno when I could though.

Took a spin out to Red Rocks, to the gates at Long Gully. Met with Andy Mac, & later with Balrog (out on the ride). Red Rocks is on Wgtn's southern coast, and follows the beach line. Mostly a well travelled track, with lots of potholes, a few small stream crossings, some areas of soft sand & gravel to keep things interesting. Lots of walkers & 4WDs day tripping.

I'd never actually been too far out that way, and was keen to see what there was. I nearly dropped the bike at Devils Gate. It was wet, and I needed a more confident approach.

Here's a few shots from the ride.

Spur of the moment decision to go for a ride at Red Rocks today. This is a coastal ride beginning at Owhiro Bay only 7k from home. No trees or mud but all gravel, small round rocks & sand. Quite a few walkers, 4 wheel drives & motocross bikes. Steve & I were late and headed off over Devils Gate. We found Jim already heading back (its a there & back track). We all went to Long Gully gate & back out. We wellingtonians are lucky to have this ride in the city.

Sorry, was a really last minute / spur of the moment thing. Andy called to talk about something else & dropped that in at the end of the discussion.

Would be a good ride to drop in with something else.

That will be next weekend hopefully, as it looks like I might actually be able to drag my bike out as I have nothing else planned for it yet it except a family event on Sunday evening.
