Have offered assistance of any kind (riding shotgun with them, food, bed, breakdown trailer () whatever) when they reach Coro Peninsula. I only noticed this thread a couple of days ago - what an awesome ride

Don't know what the smallest bike to achieve a GC is but Lee Rusty did the Southern Cross on a GN 250 one year.....
IIRC, the smallest bike to complete the Southern Cross was a Suzuki RG50 from the Waikato.

Southern Cross on an RG50 !!! That is a truly marathon effort.

Sadly these boys would have bombed the time constraints of the Southern Cross, though extra merit must be given to them for doing it 2 up!

I understand that he rode from Cape Reinga to Wellington, only stopping for gas and a pie, slept on the ferry and then repeated the exercise until he reached Invercargill. He was first out to the signpost at Bluff in the morning - what a guy. (The 2003 event I think)

You've got to hand it to these lads though, a great adventure

If anyone hear something from the two on their trusty stead, please post it here as I am supposed to be the lucky one enjoying their company tonight. But I will be at the movies with my 3 boys from 1.30pm until approx 4pm.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Does a loose translation mean they are ok but somewhere out of range of a bottle shop?

Third time lucky? I don't fancy your chances.
Couple of Hours? Couple of Hours? There are at least 3 taggers sleep in their gear with the engines ticking over just waiting for the next one. If you don't leave the house within 5 mins of the post, it's gone. It's normally a straight drag race to see who can get to it first and then back before someone else posts it. It can change locations 6-7 times on a week-end.

Great reading guy's. An absolute epic adventure that will go down as an all time great.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

I think you should send this thread to Peter Jackson. I'm sure there's a movie in there somewhere!
