Most of the posts here have given very wise advise - I would be stupid not to listen - my life is FAR more important than the idiot who tailgates me.

Thoughts anyone? Anyone want to share their stories of these Road Wankers?
At the end of the day it's a lot safer to just keep your cool and avoid the stupid drivers (and riders) on the road for you own safety. You're on 2 wheels and will generally sustain much greater injury that a driver will. Take care of yourself and try to avoid letting the idjits getting to ya.

Be carefull who you piss off. Before you engage their wrath make sure you're certain you can outrun them. The one and only time I've done 120kph in a 50 zone was with a git on my tail that nearly ran me off the road by accident now trying to do it deliberatly. The only reason I got away was that I lost them in traffic.

I know this is hard to do. This happened over twenty years ago but I still have trouble restraining my middle fingre at times. Every time I lapse I get a twinge and wonder if this will be the one that will try to enact retribution.

You could call *555, but comms usually don't really care about dangerous driving.

I had an incident recently where a stupid woman pulled out of a side road and very nearly wiped me out. Luckily I managed to hit the breaks before plowing into her car. I followed her to the local post office where I had a very polite conversation with her. I found out that she had no idea that she nearly hit me and didn't even see me on the main road coming from her right. I asked her very nicely if in future before pulling out of junctions she could try looking for motorbikes. To be honest I could have lost my temper as I was a bit shaken up but decided that being reasonable and polite would probably have more affect than yelling and screaming and giving a bad impression of bikers.

After talking with OWNER about this he thinks I was lucky not to be assualted which is a frightening thought.

To be honest, in future, if I came across an experience like you had I would just stay as far away from them as possible and hope that karma gets them later!

Dont let the "nice" person rent stress room in your head.
You are in control, not them .
Exersize that control by taking yourself safley out of the danger zone.
Let them continue on their Darwin experiance without you.

Carrying a handful of large engineer's nuts and bolts in the pocket is useful at times like this. Flick them over your shoulder into the windscreen ...

what you did wrong was let your anger get the better of you and passed him again to prove a point...... try not to let your anger get the better of you. Just let them go. Karma has a way of dealing to assholes and, quite frankly, you are going to encounter them time and time again. Don't let it spoil your ride..... take a break, relax and continue on your way refreshed to enjoy your ride.

If you can, let them pass you. And I wouldn't bother trying to catch up with them.

You'll end up as part of their accident.
The problem with 250's ( if you can remember back ) is that its not so easy to loose a determined tailgater.

    Just read this thread.

Yes, do yourself a big favour and don't let idiots get to you. You will find that they are generally not capable of understanding what it is they are doing wrong and for you to try and educate the uneducatable is not wise.

Let morons be morons and look after yourself.

I've heard a few variations on this theme before, but often wondered how many riders actually do it. I don't think I'd ever be able to get my gloved hands into the tight pockets of my jacket to retrieve any such items! Not to mention being uncertain as to my "getaway" ability if they decided to turn nasty and chase me down.... Don't think it's an option I'd seriously consider. The most "boring" option (taking a deep breath, allowing them to pass and go their way) might not give any feeling of satisfaction, but might prolong your longevity on 2 wheels.
