All depends on the rider, My gsxr has done a 9.8 1/4 mile best I could manage there was 11, couldnt keep the front down.
When me, death.inc and others used to go to the night drags a mate of ours managed 10.01 on a standard TLS.

To be fair, they did do better burn outs than the hyobag.

    Nice troll though.

This thread is pretty silly really.

It's all about the ride - whatever floats your boat.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - its about people buying expensive chrome tractors which vibrate and are unsuited to New Zealand's epic roads. And purchasing the HD myth about American iron, the legend, "the road...(groan)", all the advertising hoopla which goes with the marque.

Its just like American television shows. The gritty stuff is so earnest and full of moral lessons that they are shoved down the viewers throat. And the so-called comedies have a laugh track just to tell you when its funny......

So it is with Harley Davidson. Their marketing and design departments have never heard the word "subtle". Nothing cannot be overstated. Everything has to shine and capture the rebel freedom dream, all available just down the road from your local dealer......

That's why kindly KBers try to educate those who have been hypnotised by the HD gotterdammerung.

I does occur to me in this fine debate that possibly I am smack-bang in the middle by riding a naked bike (Honda as it is).

Surely that's the best of both worlds by sitting more upright than a sport bike but less reclined than a cruiser.

And chaps on HD's and Triumphs often wave at me - I think as it's naked they mistake it for something non Japanese

Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit. They make fucking marvellous tourers and actually ride quite smoothly. Believe what you will, I've covered tens of thousands of k's on HD's on NZ roads and all has been good. They can be loaded up with tents or whatever and take it all in their stride.

Sure, you don't get your knee down and all that sportsbike bollocks but that sort of pseudo-macho crap should be saved for the track anyway.

Yes, a tourer, in NZ great idea, what will you do on the third day?

Continue touring. If you can tour all of NZ in three days you're gonna miss shitloads.
