Yea, I read that thread today, and was a little confused, as to if this was the same incident or not!

From what I read, there is little in the way of evidence (one witness says bunch of Harleys, which (the presence of a group of Harleys) is backed up by an "after the fact" independent witness, where as another witness says it was a red Ducati 900...... who is right?), so the chances of someone being charged is slim (or maybe none)

My opinion has absolutely no effect (thankfully), but my somewhat cynical approach to things like this goes as such.

The witness (person involved in rear ending the "victims" car,) has every reason in the world to (attempt) to find a scapegoat, and as such, her memories maybe a little "unreliable".

While co-incidence is no proof of guilt (phew!) and, I assure you I am totally impartial to this, to me, it does seem A HUGE CO-INCIDENCE that
    A) the driver of the Subaru said it was "a group of Harleys"
    and
    B) A group of Harleys left just before the first group on the scene.

Fortunately, NZ is a democratic country, and evidence is needed, BUT, if the guys/girls in question are indeed not guilty, then they should come forward and tell their story to the cops. Despite what some people with have you think, they aren't "Stazzi", and no-one is getting shot.

I am guessing it would be unwise to ride a red motorcycle (of any brand) down that way about now.

Using a basic pattern of events scenario, from what has been posted here

    ........ Using two witness descriptions.........

, A group of Harleys left the Peg, passed a Ducati 900, and the Rider of the Ducati tried so hard to catch the Harleys and pass them back, he ran a Subaru off the road.............

Sounds like an episode of the "twilight Zone" to me...........

Get over it. Think yourself lucky you don't live in Hazard county.

Well that's all I was doing, making a couple of observations and copped some pretty intense and unfriendly flak for it.

Meh, KB can do without my opinion anyway I 'spose.

Sportsbike or HD lets hope they can find the person so they can give their version of events.....

I mean to say a Duc being overtaken by a bunch of Harleys - wtf?

Well you would think so wouldnt you. Pity there are also a lot of closed minded (sometimes nasty) posters on here. Although it does make for a great nights entertainment

Unfortunately some riders are arrogant and ignorant. I helped a fallen rider at Christmas, and his mate just continued on to his home. He happily arrived at the scene with the guys wife after I managed to phone her to inform her of his condition.

Let me tell you, he had more than an earful from me - what kind of mate leaves you 5 km from home stuck under a bush, and doesn't even come back looking to see where you might be - but goes home, and casually puts his bike in the shed and changes out of his riding gear, and comes back after the wife phones him for help

    Doh!!!!

Obviously the wife was seriously HOT and he enjoyed sitting next to her in the car. Otherwise he would have stayed home.

No. Things that don't happen to my family don't affect us. I don't pick up others' problems or else I'd suffocate with the load of the world on me.

Hunting someone down and crucifying them does nothing. I will shutup now, I have said my piece.

Your lack of moral fibre is repugnant.
