    Are scooters to become motorbikes?

Did I read right? Looks to me that 50cc scooters are going to be treated as motorbikes. If thats the case then I say FINALLY. No more shit box dangerous peces of crap from china allowed on the streets.
I don't even care if their rego costs stay the same --Just as long as they actually have to pass a WOF

ONLY as far as ACC is concerned. Still a separate class as far as LTNZ is concerned. ACC classification doesn't affect WOF.

if they have to pass WOF, there will be about 50 less scooters on the road in my town alone! some of them are held together with number 8 wire, duct tape and lots of crossed fingers. i dont see why they are exempt from wof anyway.

Thats been my arguement for years.
Ixion --part of one of the gubiment changes is to change scooters to being small motorcycles as far as the LTSA is concerned. A small difference yes but it would mean they do need a WOF

Um, Frosty, the last time I looked, you were heavily into selling shit-box Chinese two-wheels until you discovered that shit-box Chinese two-wheels weren't a seller.

Isn't this just a tad hypocritical on your part?

ACC's plan is to have mopeds pay the levy. Submissions on the safer journeys document to the Ministry of Transport included aspects of licensing mopeds similar to how motorcycles currently are.

You clearly are a blind old man. The "shit box" scooters I was selling would and DO pass all requirements to pass a WOF.

You left out grumpy and judgmental.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

    Yes,

    ignorant.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
