You don't get it do you?

The best person for the job is someone who has already put in years of work and effort, quietly and unthanked. Who has shown a willingness to try to find and interpret the statistics, to contact the media, to push our case forward wherever they can. Who, when this situation arose, started working immediately.

Not someone who has kicked back and watched Sky Sport for two weeks until the call for the next Bono to arise, to champion our cause went out, at which point they come out of nowhere to save the day.

    Ah. Somebody gets it.

We need the public on our side. At this stage anyway. The public perception of bikers is all too often tattooed dreadlocked bruisers with an antisocial attitude. Well, the sooner they are priced off the road the better says Joe Q Public , that deep and incisive thinker. Or smarmy yuppies who can easily afford to pay what for the damage their toys do. Make them pay their fair sahre, why should I subsidise them, says Joe Q.

But a gentle unthreatening old man, just like Dad ?

There will eb a time for a switch to an agressive mode. But not yet.

I now know we have the right person for the job.

Nobody is going to take a snake oil salesman seriously, but when Mr average, Uncle Les comes along and makes Dr Bob on a thosand dollar suit look like a dick he has my vote. Convince the public the ACC is wrong and the politicans will follow and thats what Les we did tonight.

You won't convince the politicans of anything they just follow the mood of the people.

    I'm not bagging anyone.

I'm just saying that there has to be a better public face for our campaign.

I believe all requests for info from govt departments are automatically requests under the official info act

The only costs are meant to be resonable fees for their time to put it all together....$10000 for raw data....what effort could would cost that much?

Yep - it would have been a completely different interview if their shoes (or in fact all of their clothes) were on the different foot...

Was that you on the tube? I take my hat off to you, you did a stirling job.

Let me know when I can help with the "agressive mode" stuff.

I'm going up for the protest, was there in 93, just organising leave, accommodation and transport now.

just watched it online and ixion did an amazing job! made that suit look like a goldfish... he was sitting there with his mouth hanging open at least once, and the rest of the time was stammering around for answers, while ix kept his head on straight, his voice steady and got the points across clearly.

    well done!
