    My posted reply.

What you meant to say was "In Auckland, A thousand plus orderly bikers ranging from scooters to large bikes, from ordinary commuters, to long standing bikers attended a very peaceful and well organised meeting today".

What "tooting horns and revving engines in a loud display" Absolutely not one person at the Auckland meeting tooted a horn or revved an engine. What meeting was your reporter at ? Come on for once tell the real story, don't just spice it up. This is a serious matter not just a good story.
When I read the "tooting and engine revving" bit I think that they had only covered the CHCH ride. Details about the Auckland meeting didn't appear until after as an update.

Not too impressed with idiots riding round (with cameras everywhere) without fucking helmets on. Hopefully they weren't filmed, cos God knows that's the footage they'll use if they've got it.
At least one biker switched off the engine and coasted into the gathering. Good on him!

Cheers to the police who attended for traffic control!!

    numbers

see they report 500 riders in Auckland and 400 in Welly.Other estimates for welly were 6 to 800.If thats what 400 bikes looks like we are going to have lots and lots of trouble with thousands...We will need Aitken street and Kate Sheppard Place blocked off for parking...and i mean the whole street as one giant bike park.

Some idea of the amount of bikes there, fantastic turn out to be honest, heard the total at over 1000 at one point. I gave RM a Pillion down and he worked at handing out flyers, and bought me a coffee....

    Are they KB shirts?

I didn't catch what was written on the back, just the front, said something similar to "I've been really naughty". I was trying to read it, but considering the lady wearing it, was quite distracted.
