nope
was a bit wet first thing and looked like it the weather could settle in so we threw on the petticoats and headed off for a latte
we had a good ride back (got home about an hour ago). Had a ride up Takapri Rd to the top of the Ruahines and the weather closed in and the rain pissed down and wind howled (my wet weather gear was in my top box hidden at the bottom of the track). Was fine when we got back down to the main rd again....
had a great weekend but I will have to go back and do the 42nd properly....
thanks Phil for the awesome Sunday loop - that was a highlight![]()

You are welcome. Glad everyone enjoyed it. Mite have to do the 42nd again myself, its a few years since I did it and that was 2up on the Beemer. Keen to do on the DR
Excellent trip boys.
6:30pm arrived in Wellington, long traffic jam at the Basin ReserveI was saddlesore at Otaki & the bruised tailbone from the hillclimb flipping incident, meant I just wanted to be home.
Where my wife Joan is cooking my favourite homecooked meal - wiener schnitzelI wonder if she will clean my riding gear?

Or was it just the rider?.......
hehe
What went wrong with the klr Marks??
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
Just sifting through the 453 photos I took. This may take a while.

Ran some wheel bearings in the middle of nowhere (about 20kms away from Raetahi). Thanks guys for staying & helping me sort it. Huge ups to Brights Lawnmowers & Engineering who got the thing fixed, starting at 4.30pm (beer o'clock) Friday.
Bart has the same issue, but his didn't collapse, fixed at Taumaranui
Dropped the KTM when it got crossed up in ruts in Fishers. Happened so fast I never had a chance to correct. Just spat me off, & threw me drown the bank, shoulder surfing. Compression on the tank, the paint job is history..
Other than that a top weekend. No, the bike is definitely better than the rider...![]()
I must have gone over one bump too many as my top box hit me in the back - while it was still attached to the rack, Sheared the rack mounting bolts in the subframe.
my fault really - its a fairly lumpy track in places and I had a bit of weight in the top box.
I also crunched part of the center stand and will need to get some welding done before it can be used again. I'm also very glad I replaced the plastic bash plate with an alloy one - I can't imagine the plastic one surviving some of the hits the alloy one took over the weekend. All in all the klr handled the ride really well (except the D606 rear is toast at 3000km)
so nothing serious then

Wow, sounds like a tough weekend for the bikes, was it worse than usual or just co-incidence?
On that note however, I took the 800 in for a WOF on Friday and it failed, front wheel bearing and lower shock mount bearing. The last ride I did on it was 42nd, Fishers, Whanga road.
