I'll give you mine and share with that bike there, I can do that because I'm on a motorcycle. But if the goovernment tax us off the road, I'll be forced into a car, and I wouldn't be able to assist you, Here , ahve a leaflet".

Moves bike, grateful public, message conveyed. next car park that come empty, bike takes it, rinse lather repeat.

That shows us as good guys, AND gets our message across.

There HAS to be some disruption for people to notice. Yes - a few people looking for parks will be pissed - BUT it will make a bigger story and get more attention if it remains as was originally stated - and would have a better change of changing Smiths position (which is more important than pissing off a few soccor moms (even if they are hot)

Beauty is, it enables us to control the disruption. Enough to make our point, without pissing TOO many people off.

if the number of pissed offs is less than the number of gratefuls, we're ahead of the game.

    All valid points;

The reason we are filling car spaces is to peacefully demonstrate that if the bike is priced of the road this space would be filled by another car (a cheaper alternative) If we give up the space for a car it will just look like a car park in a matter of a few minuets and the impact of our statement will be lost.

There is nothing in Mission Bay that cannot be acquired else where so the inconvenience will be tolerable by the vast majority I believe.

The ‘park in’ perhaps should be time limited say 10-11am, when we all leave the impact will be felt again by the sudden availability of spaces and those of us that stay on, park in bike spaces (or the little areas we all know about) and shows again how bikes have a minimal impact on other road users.

Disruption is inevitable its about how we educate those disrupted thats important.

At this stage it will be noon by the time we Whangarei riders will arrive for Coffee and Lunch at Mission Bay. Please decide what your plans are about the "parking" at that time, cause if we don't know the plan at that time, we end up screwing it up for you by doing the one-bike-one-parking-space thing. Will need to know soon so I know what ot recommend to the riders up here. If it is all over by 10am then there will be little point in us going down. To arrive at 10am, we would have to leave here at 7:30am. Don't think I would get many takers on that time of departure.

Please use the K.I.S.S system, OK.

    Smile

On a lighter note, as a relative newcomer to the biking scene its going to be a blast getting to walk around a whole different range of bikes on Sunday. The anticipation is mounting...

    i was in wellington at the protest and it pissed me off that the bike comunity still dont know whats going on with the ACC or what exacly they are protesting about;

now dont get me wrong,i dont want to pay $850 per year
we all know the facts and depending on whitch side you lisen to they are both in the right (except nick the prick and he will allwas be a twat)

the 11 billion that tresury "borrowed" from ACC, means ACC is broke
and the 1 billion profit that ACC made this year is "invested"
so ACC is probably having to borrow money

the government needs to give our money back to where it belongs
and stop future funding of claims

its not Natonal's fault that they inherited the styem ,but as caretakers of the country they should show some leadership and suport the peoples request
instead of trying to line their mates pockets with gold

the people put you there and they can take you out again
look at last time you screwed with ACC you where out the next vote

but the facts are that tresury has our money

ALL of New Zealanders money !

we should be trying to get that mesage across

$11,000,000,000 is a lot of cash

and its ours for ACC not for the govt use as a cash cow

Im confused Rob O. Whos really to blame then? A vast majority of bikers just know that the Price of owning and operating a Motorcycle will go up. As far as im concerned, whoever made the proposals to blame for targeting Motorcyclist only which to me is unfair.

they arn't only targeting m/c, cars up to a $400 ACC levy + road tax will take them to $550 aprox

and I have 2 of those

we need the suport of car drivers

we pay money to lots of govt departments but the govt doesn't use the money for what we pay it for

eg petrol tax gos to fund NZ on AIR
tax on smokes funds fat peoples health care

our acc money is probably funding the natonal debt interest

Yip, almost a billion dollars each in cigarette tax.
To all you smokers, keep on smoking, the Government need your dollars, if they loose that income, they will have to find that money from somewhere else.
