Is a helmet not a legal requirement? Ya got me there, car protection is standard, it always has been hasn't it?

Then again, once upon a time ther were no seatbelts in a car, airbags where an optional extra, there was no such thing as a crumple zone, cars where just metal cages that spat lead out of their rear end and shifted more than 2 people around... Protective motorcycle clothing is an optional extra!

If all you want to do is argue about are the "safety" features and pros and cons of cars v bikes, start your own thread, leaving this thread free for other purposes. If you can't do that, then i can only assume that you're here for a fight, a disinformationalist, not an open minded reasonable person and should be banned! Something i will request!

I have and I guess the only constant is change....I agree that ACC are wrong as they made a profit but I also look at things in perspective

Dont forget that in the UK if you are "at fault" you give up the right to sue...which is essentially "claiming"...ACC as it is now is still a better option.

Here is an example...with ACC they will pay 80% of your salary for your working life..in the UK, say you are 25...you have another 40 years to work but you get a lump sum based on multiples i.e 25 years worth of future salary.....if you are not at fault..with ACC you get paid 80% for 40 years....

WE the people of New Zealand entered a deal with OUR Government (not the fucking brits or the fucking Okkers, does that register with you yet?) to wave our right to sue, which I might add is also the right to be screwed over by the larger legal fund than YOU have, in excchange for certain agreeable compensation issues, and NO FAULT OR BLAME required at all

THIS Government is changing that deal with no reasonable excuse beyond opening the market to private sector for 'added value' ...lik what fuckin added value?

car protection is not standard...there is a huge difference between the protection afforded by a 1970 s Holden Monaro V8 and a 2009 toyota Yaris.... one....is there a difference in their acc levy?

and as a min wage earner its a lot for me too. The increase cuts my bikes budjeted fuel allowance in half.
