    Why was it postponed?

Was it postponed because of the lack of support?
Or did you come to realisation that you may have got it wrong?

Whatever the reason?, I dont really care but would like to add, stand by your convictions. Personally, I doubt you will ever do it.

I heard on the 3pm news today that ''100's of bike were expected to cause disruption at local Auckland Malls bla bla'....someone looks like and idiot now, either you for not going ahead with it, or the Radio station for reporting something that never happened.

If you are really passionate about something, nothing will stop you, nothing!

God its bad when you quote yourself but someone on the side suggested a more snappy headline for a positive spin press release, so here goes.

"New Zealand bikers know wrong from right, and decide not to follow ACC's example of forcing more congestion onto the roads."

Sell it like this and what did not happen, can be made to sound like a positive, and no one ends up with egg on their faces.
Please Mr ACC, my 1300cc bike was passed by a 400cc bike on a track day, can I have my fees reduced ?

    I prefer the other one.

Christmas spirit scuttles motorcyclists' protest plans
    By Mathew Dearnaley
    4:00 AM Monday Nov 30, 2009

Santa and the Christmas spirit appeared to give a band of bikers cold feet about disrupting Auckland shopping malls yesterday with accident compensation protests.

A shadowy threat to occupy carparks at up to three malls in protest against proposed ACC levy rises of up to $493 for large motorbikes was lifted just after 6am by a message on the Kiwibiker website saying that the organisers had postponed their plans "in deference to the public."

Veteran motorcyclist David Peppiatt said he was "somewhat annoyed" by the backdown and puzzled that the organisers, who have not identified themselves, had cited central Auckland's Santa Parade among their reasons.

Mr Peppiatt, who posted the postponement message on the website, said the malls targeted were outside the central business district, although there had also been a plan to ride up Queen St after the parade.

The Kiwibiker website has been rife with criticism of the proposed protests, and Mr Peppiatt said he suspected that had "got a lot of people worried they are going to upset the public".

"I keep saying, there's only one way to get this thing moving, and that's to get the public to start yelping," he said.

The action was not condoned by the mainstream Bikers Organisation of New Zealand (Bronz), which organised a 5000-strong "bikoi" protest ride to Parliament, but which is urging protesters "not to target innocent business owners or to undertake actions specifically intended to disrupt the public".

But Auckland branch president Les Mason expects many of his members to attend a public meeting at the Royal Akarana Yacht Club tonight to fire questions at Accident Compensation Minister Nick Smith, who will be guest speaker.

Mr Mason said he also understood a separate protest was being organised outside the yacht club by those concerned about proposed tighter rules for ACC-funded counselling of sexual abuse victims.

That's the price you pay for having a profile. You want to keep ACC planning stuff secret? Set up a social group where only members who have belonged for more than 3 months can access then flick out announcements on locked threads.

EDIT: Or set up a group like the 'Senior Members' where you have to qualify to access.

*yawn* - I'm somewhat bored of these mysterious uber-secret "organisers" that are behind everything.

Unlike everyone else in the pro-mall protest, (apart from the mysterious shadowy group at the helm), I actually have put myself, and my family out, a lot, for the protests.

I helped with the auckland ride, printed god knows how many fabric transfers till all hours of the night, sent my wife and our then 7 week old daughter out to buy MORE transfers when I was working, deilvered many hundreds of flyers for two events arounf auckland, spent my own money up front to buy said transfers, ink, vests, postage, megaphones on the promise of payment later by a group of bikers I barely knew. I also took time off work and my baby daughter to marhall at the bikoi (flying to wellington on my own coin).

So, yes DB and others, I do think I'm qualified to have an opinion on here - even though I never even expressed that opinion on the poll.

All Kudos though to Matthew Deleany (sp?) in the Herald - he has really done us proud with his reporting. I do agree though - that intention or not - the message the public will have got regarding the dispruptive protest is Kiwibike Kiwibiker Kiwibiker..

    </rant>

That over - good on ya Dpex for pulling the plug. There's got to be common ground here - let's pull together to find it - the next bikoi protest needs to be bigger and louder - there's little doubt about that.

And this from a minor weasel who does nothing else but talk, talk, talk.

You see, Katweasel, I can take the lumps, whereas you are just one of the lumps.... of social detritus making up the cattle numbers.

You're a pathetic little boy, probably dressed in a strawberry printed pinny while you microwave your takeaways, prior to coming on here to feel grand.

But perhaps you could take you hand off your little putz, for just a short time, and regale us all with what it is, precisely you, Katpiss has or is doing to further the cause against ACC levies.

What is it? " Yeah well. I sat in front of TV, whacking off, and thought..."

Like you ever have an original thought.

    What a cock.
