Going for my restricted - U turn question

Oh, I did forget to add, if it's a proper U turn (as opposed to the cul-de-sac thingy) ensure you indicate both when pulling into the kerb and then the 3 second right indicator once you've established the road is clear before executing the turn itself. I know it seems an obvious thing but it's the one thing I drummed into Ripper Roo92's head before he sat his full - the kinda thing that could be forgotten if nerves get the better of you!

I did my restricted today (and passed - phew) After reading this thread earlier I have been practicing my U-Turns in narrow places but the U-Turn in my test today was a non-event. We went up the East Coast Bays Rd 80km area for a few kms then turned into a wide side road on the right. The tester said to turn around and head back. I concentrated on my best attempt at a slow controlled U-Turn (with indicators Princess) but there was so much space it wasn't challenging at all.

Another thing I was a little confused over was whether you should put both feet on the ground when stopped at an intersection. There is a sticky on KB about the restricted test that says you should, however a very qualified instructor told me to keep the right foot on the brake pedal and only put the left foot down. So before the test I asked the tester what she expected. She said that if an instructor told me to use one foot then that must be the best way. However she said she would not fail me for either method.

Cheers for that, I'm booked in at Quay Street in town. I don't the know the area that well so I don't know how wide the streets are. I'm gonna pop down for a slow ride around and check out the area first.

Why in Quay st?
Could you not get anything closer and more user friendly?

I work on Khyber Pass Rd, means I can do the test then head in to work.

Yeah I'm sitting at Quay Street too, simply because I have about a 2 day window where I'll actually have time to do the test and it was the only place available. I know the city well though so should be all good. So GOONR, give us a rundown when you've passed the test ok! (And good luck of course, I'm sure you wont need it!)

Cheers. Yeah will do, although I'm still about 2 weeks away! Time is moving really slooowly..
