We are staring to find that subcontractors in the building circle in Central Otago can't look at work as they are busy again, this is a great sign but hoping it does not go back to what it was which was stupidly high prices and shafting people.

A years forward work is cool Joe, anyone can be disposed of on a weekly, 2 week or monlthly basis depending on their contract so I am not sure of job security anywhere.... being self employed also adds a new dimension to that as well.

That is a bad thing and what has given a huge helping hand to the mess we have seen, people need to spend within their limits.

My dad is a hard arse Dutchie and we have always been bought up with "if you can't pay for it in full on the spot then DON'T buy it", apart from a house mortgage this is what I have done all my life and it works well.

That lifestyle ain't sustainable. We will have to pay the piper by massive cuts to our living standards quickly.
