Mate - i've been out riding with you before, and riding with carver, you two are poler opposites, he gets out there ad pushes it too hard for my liking, you get out there and plod along so slowly I wonder why you even bother

I'd rather live a short life as a lion - than a long life as a snail

We all have our choices - but some how I wonder what carver did to endear such harsh comments from you every chance you get, have you met him, do you understand what his black humor is about? Do you understand the concept of a piss take?
Lifes Just one big ride - buckle up or hang on

I wonder if those who are condemnatory of Mr carver have met him in meatspace?

Until recently, I thought I understood what sort of a person mr carver was. I had an opinion of him. It was not entirely laudatory

Then I had an opportunity to meet him. I was obliged to recognise that my understanding was defective. And to significantly amend my opinion. (I'm sure Mr Carver cares not a whit for that, but I was happy to do it. It is always pleasant to find that the world is a better place than one had presumed)

Who the fuck is Ashton Kutcher ? EDIT: Never mind I Googled him (how long BTW before Googled loses its capitals ?). But I still don't see the relevance . Mr Kutcher is not (apparently) gay ? And I have black jackets also. I like to have a choice.

Punk'd is a modern entertainment genre that Mr C's act fits within and where Mr K is the Doyen.

I have picked on the waterbottle and the BMW enough.

OK. So what's a "modern entertainment genre" ? Bearing in mind my definition of "modern"

EDIT: Isn't "punk" supposed to have safety pins through the nose, and pink mohawks? Mr Carver had neither. In fact, I am confident that if I were to introduce him to Mrs Ixion, she would consider him a "very polite , clean cut, well bred young man". The accolade last bestowed on Mr Renegade Master, of whom she throughly approved. Mrs Ixion's seal of approval is not lightly earned.

In your day it was 'Candid Camera' and 'Ripley's Believe it or not'. Cross the two and make it cruel. Punk'd.

Mrs oldrider and I flew in Fred Ladd's plane not long after he did that and if you think Carver is full of himself, that guy was almost unbearably overflowing with self adoration!

Flying under the harbour bridge was a doddle compared to Carver's ride over the arches IMHO!

Whew. Thank goodness - I thought you were going to get out of shape about the Rotarian jab.

Every Muppet in the 'Tron with a pit bike would be doing it (or even better, the ones in your neighborhood would be attempting "challenges").

There are plenty of challenges and adventures out there that don't involve this kind of stunt (your average club trial has more challenging and technical stuff than the bridge ride).
What Law? ...The one that says you cannot see and face up to a challenge? "Sorry mate you are not allowed to climb that mountain or wade across that river or go surfing or diving because you might get into difficulties and need assistance, and that will then put some one else at risk and waste public $, all because of your fool hardy sense of adventure.....

As for the last sentence...you are limiting "fun" to structured and organised events...where there is a commercial interest albiet simple public liability insurance. Where is the freedom to find, face up to and enjoy individual challenges in that?
