At the end of the day Police arent what they were 20-30 years ago, they seem to operate on a zero tolerance attitude.
Of course this then gets a zero assistance attitude from the public.
Police and traffic enforcement should never have been combined, but it has, and that is what has caused the problem of poor public relations with the police, and why we see people being prosecuted for failing to assist an officer if he is getting the crap kicked out of him on the side of the road.
The system is the system and only the law makers can change it.
The police know this is not a good system, and that the public support for them is falling. Maybe this is why so many seem to have an attitude towards everyone.
Who knows....
but thats just how it is

LoL, I feel sorry for straight cops, there are just so many gay mf's in there that don't do the job for "building safer communities" but rather to "always blow on the pie" sounds like the advice you get, if you get any at all these days, isn't worth the toilet paper it's written on.
The only thing positive about the traffic division is..................................... nope can't think of anything.....
I am freindly really, I only bite when provoked

If you give them respect, often that's what you get in return.
Disrespect them on the other hand, you get the picture.
They've got a shite job dealing with orroble peeps at times.
L'arte italiana cammina su due rotelle!
Ah, THAT old chestnut. "People are losing respect for Police because Police do traffic enforcement."
Let's see. Arthuer Alan Thomas. David Bain. Scott Watson. Louise Nicholas. Two men spending 9 months in prison on a false arson conviction. David Dougherty. Iraena Asher. Email porn. Etc, etc.
And you're telling me it's the traffic cops who are bringing the Police down?
Yeah right.
Yes but that rot has fucked the country for a good 100 or so years.
It didn't help the fact that we were copying the most rotten country in the world (UK) and comparing ourselves to a prison outpost (Aus).
To complain about it now seems almost irrelevant.
Of course the alternative is not much better. A genuine corrupt police force who kill & maim those who break the law.
So either way we lose.
May as well deal with the devil we know.

Jeez you guys dont know how good you have it. Your cops are by FAR not a corrupt force. And by FAR actually do care.
It seems like some of you just want to highlight the exception as the rule. Maybe to justify bad behaviour, or maybe because you have a chip on your shoulder (or perhaps a genuine reason to be worried).
Perhaps you all WANT to live in the wild west? No rules?
Be careful what you wish for....
As a society, we put the cops there through the elected government in order to keep accpetable levels of behaviour as the norm. So that we can all go about our daily business in relative safety (in traffic and otherwise). The cops are doing what we have asked them to do.
think about it this way: If every other c#$t pulled out and drove on the wrong side of the road at will when they felt like it because they have little to no respect for teh law (hey you would be surprised at how often it happens in the wild west), it would no longer be viable to even ride a bike.
