Valuing bikes? What's it worth?

Interesting enough..
if you take out the 2 muppets who said the bikes worth nothing and the guy with extremely good taste who said its worth over 6k then the average comes to $2765.

I settled insurance on $4000

unfortunately for your its a old jap bike with high k's. Its gone down in value as much as it can. It'd say 2k max - this is the price i'd pay for it as that is what i'd realistically be able to sell it for.

my mate had one and i think he got a 4k payout from insurance for it, minus about 1k excess. same year, but it was on 90 000ks

That 2k price was the price i'd pay for a 98zx9r with 150 000k's on the clock.

I gave you the price my mate got from his insurance company - he had to argue it alot tho - new tyres aftermarket parts etc etc

fair enough.. but this is the thing.... ... value... the price the market is willing to buy it for or the price the market CAN buy it for?

see.. cause I have taken my bike all over the country. when I first got it.. I might have sold it for $6000. As I get on with it more and more it become a point where I would never sell it. So its invaluable. because you couldnt buy it off me and Im not sure if you could find another one that has proved it can do 150,000km of trouble free running.
