It is absurd, however all one can do is take advantage of the few places available. Where I work is not a public accessible location, and it has a road barrier arm in operation. I have no idea where else I could pull it off, well not legally at any rate lol. A private air strip could be the go...... but how many of those are there lol.

A mate used to shout a few beers for his workers on a Friday night, not any more, if they had an accident & were injured there was the potential for him to be prosecuted

Pull wheelies in the carpark & the it is the boss who is at serious financial risk, especially if he knowingly fails to take action even if no accident occurs.

Like I said , if you worked for me I would find any excuse to get rid of you, an worker like that is a liability I could not afford to employ.

Nice to see the fun police out in force lol............

I am a professional in my work, and have been throughout my marketing career, however, unlike turkey's, I employ people who do take risks, can have fun, and do enjoy themselves with whatever floats there boat. Success is a direct result of hard work, a bit of stress, and even more hard work.
When one doesn't unwind from there work and have a bit of fun, that is when monotony sets in, boredom and fatigue sneak the path, and owh accidents and serious injury result, if not numerous near miss' along the way.

PC police are eggs, people that don't try for fear of doing something wrong, or mistakes will never learn anything, and will make a companies results average.

Over 25 years , still have all my fingers & toes, 1 lost tiime injury for a stuffed back. Safety is paramount in situations where I have had guys walk off site by morning smoko on their first day because it is too tough.
I work in a bloody dangerous environment , I work on sites through out the country for many different companies, that is why I & my clients don't put up with dumb shit.
The only cotton wool around here is the stuff between your ears.
There is sooooo much poohs and here say on this topic lol.... We are talking about a wheelie here, not an advocacy for Stupidity or negligence at work.
If one was to look at the actual statistical facts of the the results from OSH, the governing regulatory agency for investigating and prosecuting accidents for work places, one will find clearly documented that 98% of workplace accidents have nothing to do with motorcycles doing wheelies, more specifically physical industry and manual work related activity.
If workers and employers took more time to unwind and to make work more fun, perhaps a higher compliance to acceptable work behavior would result. Most accidents are clearly stated and documented to have occurred as a direct result of negligence and complacency of the performed work standard. It is also of mention that in over 80% of cases the employer is found to be negligent.......

I think the fun police here should join the labour government on their PC policy and outlaw all fun and fun activities, and ban any job that could incur a broken fingernail or stubbed toe! pffffffffffffffffffffffffft

Unwind , have fun, keep things light hearted , I do all that , but I also accept that sites I work on will not tolerate for want of a better term ' dumb shit '.

Bear in mind that if you were injured your employer would immediately fall into that 80% that were found to be negligent if they fail to take any action.

I did not make the rules , I don't like or even agree with the rules but I have to live with them.

I was recently told that common sense did not apply on the work site.

My response was that if everything we did was geared to the lowest common denominator the consequence would be an inability to rise above the lowest common denominator, every day we would go to work knowing that that was as good as it could get. Totally soul destroying & demotivating in my opinion.
The current law has created an industry of butt covering by replacing common sense with beauracracy, process & paper work
I did not make the bloody rules

I do have to concur, the pooh slide from osh is rather insane... A recent case was for a land owner in Auckland cite wished to demolish a block wall on one side of his property.
Landlord commissioned a contractor who won the tender to manage the the job. The contractor managing, sub contracted to another contractor, who in turn employed another smaller contractor to facilitate the task.
The wall demolition commenced, a portion collapsed and fell on a parked car on the road side. Inside the car was a pregnant woman. OSH investigated, the only party not fined was the pregnant woman, the largest fine was awarded to the landlord, who failed to administer and supervise the safe work practices of his property.........

Yes I understand the issue, been there, worked it, and felt the financial burden. Still think the view of wheelie in a Private carpark a bit obtuse. Especially, as in the context given, wheelies anywhere, or be it any unlawful activity on private, public land, or on the road is administered by OSH or ACC investigatory bodies, whichever apply. The financial and physical consequence will be the same regardless.

I'll still have fun, until the day I die, as it is better to live life passionately with vigor and enjoyment over safe boring and long full of regrets.

Booring jobs are one thing, Osh investigations bring a completely new level of stress I hope you never have to experience.

But seriously how big is your car park?

If you arse off while doing your dumb shit can we safely assume you'll fix yourself up and leave the ACC funding to those who have genuine accidents?

lol, No, as I pay my subs like every other dipstick fun bandit out there. As for motorcycle statistics, Trail riders are a high percentage of accident cases and pay nothing, as are the farmers who seem to like doing bike aerodynamics on quads......

Unlike alot of Biketards I am a fairly conscientious and well learned rider. I have been riding nigh on 30 years, am apt in most forms of trickery and fun.
I used to race, now like the social ride scene. Unlike the biketard era of instant experts who got licenses out of wheatbix packets five minutes ago, or the retiree's who have just got back into it after a 30+ year absence, I have a reasonable handle on things.
Noone is immune to accidents, however one usually has a consequential resolve of pushing the envelope further than ones qualification or experienced.

All this over a wheelie in a private carpark, woohoo.......

    Genuine Accidents....

You even give those guys shit!!!

I feel like going outside and doing a choreographed burnout so that the Katman can look down from his high horse and read "FFS Katman"

In my case, I have a smooth concrete wall down one side, about 10meters (wide ) tar and rows of garage doors on the otherside. Before lift off I always check all doors are closed, if even one is open - I abort.

So, the risk factor pretty low, yes I could flip the bike and it could all end in tears, but this is a risk I am prepared for the boss to take.....

Meh, like I said - I don't count displays of bravado gone wrong or gross incompetence as genuine accidents.
