Z1R TC's were never a factory produced bike. Kawasaki NZ converted 13 Z1R's to Z1R TC's, with kits sourced from the states, some others found their way into NZ made in the country of origin, Aus UK America etc

They were made in several countries outside of the states, various 'experts' have differing ideas on how many each country made.
If you have one made in nz they were painted by cycle color and Molly graphics supplied the striping. There will be a code under the tank written in felt pen . Brian from cycle color will be able to check this number with his records and tell you when the bike was painted.

Correct! But I always preferred the original blue ones...and put mine back to that colour with genuine Z1R body work. The onwers handbook had the blue one on the cover. The book was actually printed by KHI though.
