    Cheers hilarious.
Bloody heck talk about wet land around the provences.Went to Stratford yesterday to surpise dad for dads day, after enjoying fathers day car club ride to Tui brewery,40 odd plus Falcons was impressive.
The drive was good, weather good and almost thinking should've taken bike, but true to form at Eltham starts showery, then rain at Stratford. With dad and his partner raising 240 calves we knew they'd be home, arrive to find the dog and no humans, sure enough they turn up,and I am told to light fire, they'll be in asap.So I do veges(in kitchen what was I thinking)and end up being chef jellymeat for evening. After having a few beers and general bullshit session, the power goes off, typical so put bowl of water on fire grill and have a warm coffee, then power returns(after an hour or so),off to bed and forgetting dads' partner put electric blanket on(well 4km from Egmont National Park Boundary so chilly),so about an hour later think friggin warm, and turn blanket off.

Left this morning and the amount of water was amazing, surface flooding and small slips were rife, got to Turakina and diverted to Marton, more flooding and small slips and home ok.The amount of water is huge to say the least, places had no access to driveways etc.Hope any riders out today arrived safe and sound, was bloody unpleaseant in car at times.

I think we got away lucky this time, but it just shows how susceptible we are to more flooding. Headed home early today because of surface flooding and possible road closures but all good. Gotta love the Jeep though.

We should all head for them thar hills I reckon.

But Chch puts our little hiccups in perspective.

just cleaned up a bunch of chain gunk yesterday, time for the sticky oil to fuck off I think, any recommendations of a good wax or something available round palmy? my uncle gets some hardout stuff which dries on there so doesn't attract dust, but still lubes it real good.

I just got a box full of Prolan (lanolin) products today and I'm going to try it out as a chain lube. Apparently it works real well and lasts for quite some time. We'll see I guess, but it's certainly cheaper than anything in an aerosol.

some disconcerning gentlemen might suggest to not worry about it too much. Limited licences will set you back $1k so if you keep your head down.. dont draw attention to yourself and keep it tidy for 3 months you will be fine.

i had heard it was something like 1K to get. sounds good in theory but im ment to be a pro driver, and the nice law enforcement folk went to the bother of letting my employer know that "one of there drivers wont be doing much driving for the next 3 months" so i dont think ill get away with it.

i gave the Citizens Advice Bureau a call but they wernt much use, the just told me to use google.
so i tried the free lawer service and they just gave me the phone number of a regular lawer.

i was planing on skipping the country in about 3 months anyway so i might as well sell my bike now, use the money to keep my job and remove the temptation of riding it. any takers???

That's gutting mate, have to be very wary about the infringements you get these days involving demerits, even what one would think should be minor carries high demerits. The days of getting three 115kph tickets and still hanging on to your license by the skin of your teeth are over.

I got one a couple of decades ago. Essentially it's a licence that stipulates you can drive from XXam to YYpm within the boundaries of ZZZZZZZ particular area for the purposes of employment, it was arranged through the courts. I expect you'd need to get your employer to come to the party and state that they need you to be able to drive as part of your normal employment tasks, blah, blah, blah

I think it cost about $3-400 back then so I'd hate to think what it'd be now....
