I was wondering why there was sooooo much spatter. All in all I'm pretty happy with the welder - I see what they mean tho- when you start you want a few more dials & controls. I'll start making my pivot pegs in the weekend.

It's pretty fumey in the workshop.
Panel socket? It seemed to go ok last time I used it. It has fluxcore wire in it. 0.9 from memory
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

The leads would only go one way & not the way for gasless welding. it goes much betterer now.
I'm gonna book into a welding course in the new year as there is a lot of different recommendations about which type to buy- however we won't carry that on on this thread

I think I will go out for lunch tomorrow

Down to Murch via Dry Weather/Sherry river rd and home again via Braeburn/Porika.

Leaving Mot about 9ish, depending on how well the fish are biting tonight, might be a late one

    BTW Padmei.... get a mig

That was fun..... went up the Owen Valley rd west (shoulda taken the east), one of those roads I've been past hundreds of times and never been up it. It's a dead end, with nothing special so I won't go back... Also went up Blackwater rd and scared a couple of deer of the road.
The Porika nearly beat me,I had to have 2 goes at it, it's a bit loose and slippery, but once I got past the first zigzag it was just the usuall stuff.

I went up Sharlands and was surprised that there were no bikes trailers there.

Then I saw the sign that says the permit system starts today.

So went through to the Wangamoa Saddle via Public Easement Roads only

Had a nice day ride yesterday, 420km, down to St Arnaud via forestry roads, through Rainbow Rd to Lake Tennyson, then over Mallings Pass..... and back.

The Rainbow is very dry, the track recently graded, so lots of loose stuff on the road, made the front very skittery. Hardly any water in the fords, some were totally dry.
Mallings Pass is a great side trip off the main Rainbow Rd, allow a good hour or so return, it is kinda slow going due to all the waterbars on the track.

Note to self, don't follow a 950 Erzberg too closely, when they spin up they don't just chuck rocks, they throw the whole road at ya

I just took photos today at the Classic MX Xmas Fun Day.

My nephew rolled his quad down a steep rutted hill

He's now known as "Gorse Boy".

"Dad said it was easy, but it's not!" were his first words when I got there.
He was half way down and the quad was at the bottom.

That why I'd get the girls a 2 wheeler & not a quad - they give me the shits.

I went over Maunga & along tinline rd again. If you get the chance go for a blat along tinline rd & thru tinline valley rd. It is nicely tree lined & pine needles underneath. One end ends up at a stream which may have been used by the 4wd club recently as there was a cauto sign. We should do it as a Nads ride.

Crazyfrog - are the roadies looking at turning to the darkside or just babysitting the Erz?

One thing I've noticed from mtbing & motoing these last few weeks is how dry & skittery all the tracks are - man it's gonna be a dry one this year

An evening Tinlining may be in order...

I went to Tap via Dove Hill and Sunday Creek and back the same way.

    Quite skittish...
