Anyone had a look up the Mungatapu Since the storm ?

Got a small group crossing the ditch 22nd to do Rainbow / Molesworth
(Must check with DOC on if Slip on the Rainbow has been cleared? )

To avoid the Drone up the Wairau, interested to know if Mungatapu is:
    A) passable ?
    &
    B) in any condition for the likes of GS 1150 ?

    Thanks.

It's the wire across the top that may be the only problem.

there should be 3 or more of us, If wire is as seen in your video looks like a lifter either side should deal to that. I was more concerned about slips fallen trees or 50/50 rubber in serious MUD.

There's only one place that gets muddy afer a long rain however I think you'll be ok. When it stops raining & the KLR gets a new gasket I'll check it out.

It doesn't lift all that high.
It won't lift over 2 mirrors and a screen at the same time.
Pull a mirror and tip the bike over to the other side and it should be fine.

Anyone up for a ride tomm? I gotta fill with coolant, put on the fairing & hopefully be good to go. I have new tyres so wouldn't mind another go at my hill in the forest or Maunga or Wairoa or goshdarnit anywhere...

    Do you have your permit?

Otherwise Maungatapu with the sidetracks would be a good new tyre test.
Or that climb Schmiddy had a lie down on up the Wairoa...
    I could do this afternoon...

Concreting in posts and putting up trellissss's this morning...

Went out Richmond way & saw a mate. Carried on to Wairoa Gorge. Tried the side track & didn'teven get 1/4 way up before I turned it around & came down.

Just read in the paper that the wairoa gorge is closed due to storm damage.
