Gee, I didn't know that? I've been riding my Vespa for two years wearing my motorcycle jacket, jeans, boots and a helmet I that wasn't required. Ya learn somethin' new every day...

Does the invisible armour also work on sport bikes? I see a lot of jokers riding on the motorways around Jafanui on their road rockets wearing, t-shirts, shorts and jandals.

was just makin a jest at the amount of people I see in town wearing only a helmet, obviously it was a sweeping statement.

There are sportsbike riders out there like this guy:

but on a serious note, do you agree that you can see further on a scooter and have quicker reaction times when you ride?

"Scooters are not motorcycles. They have less power and they are sitting higher, so riders' reaction times are quicker because they can see further ahead."
    WHUT.

Dear gods, would someone smack that idiot for his use of false statements and incorrect logic?
    a) Even 50cc scooters can get to 50kph with ease, so this has no relevance in an urban situation where we all are supposed to go at 50kph.
    b) Sitting higher? Unless you have a very low-slung cruiser, or a very crouchy supersport, no. My tiny Scorpio towers above scooters.
    c) Riders' reaction times have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what posture you are in on a bike.

    Retard.

A lot of scoots are being sold still.

    Define a scooter though.
They range from 45cc to 800cc

and, for higher to mean more vision, you'd already need a massive sight line for the curvature of the earth to come into play (i guess hills would be more a realistic application, but i live in palmy so no worries there!), as well as the object you needed to see being very low.

What one could say by applying similar logic, is for a scooter, the lack of mass, short wheelbase, and high sitting position, mean the angle from the front wheel to center of mass is very steep, this means less braking force can be applied before the vehicle tips, of course the lack of large diameter brakes means less braking force can be effectively applied anyway.

Could be an interesting question, can you do scooter stoppies easier than motorcycle stoppies?

I tend to think small when are mentioned, 50cc to 125cc, and yet I must admit (when I bother thinking about them) some of those big scooters look so comfy... I would probably end up riding them, armchairs on (little) wheels .

I think he meant in traffic.

    But I agree - what a dickhead.

The "step through" is a bike, designed for women. It was considered very "un-ladylike" for a woman to cock her leg up and over a traditional motorcycle seat.

Not all scoots are step through.
