Any ideas for the Easter w/e? How deep is the Mackley at the moment?

Was looking at the Rainbow/Maling/Edwards etc but I think I'll just do a bit closer to home. Fill the tank and have a play around Ben Nevis before some of those hills get too slippery.
Follow that hill climb Padmei and I started up to the end etc...
If it still exists with the logging going on up there.
Wairoa Gorge/Ben Nevis today.
Not sure what time but the weather looks like it'll be closing in this afternoon.
Want to see how the rear tyre handles the hills out there etc.
Probably heading off about 11am...
Come on Fluffy. I know you're there!
Sorry. Yes would have loved this, but Nelson went mad last night!!!. The helicopter was going and going then some one decided to shoot someone. Started at 13:00 hrs yesterday finished at 05:40 hrs this morning. Fucked I am, plus still have the flu and yes rain or shine Nordie I would be up for this......gutted![]()
I can smell you....
Due to the fact my 4 day weekend has turned into a 1 day job, MrsJ, Piglet and me are goin for a gentle cruise out to Fighting bay on Sunday.

You all missed a good'un ya pikers!
Couldn't get over to where I wanted as it's gated...
I have got to get rid of this trials rear. It's dangerous.
I would have never attempted some of the stuff today with "normal" knobs on...
Turned the engine off and went into MTB mode...
10 mins of riding, slipping, walking the bike down the track off the Ben Nevis carpark...
That rock face is about 2m high...
To get to a 30 ft bluff at the end...
Wondered why there where wheel marks down it earlier when looking up at it...
30 mins of riding, slipping, pushing, lifting, all the way back to the top...
The one situation the trials rear doesn't help is mud with slick dirt below.
A few stones or a root and it's away but if there's nothing there to grip on...
The trials rear was so kind to the environment, I'd swear little green shoots were coming up in my wheel marks.
Fertilised by the poo shooting out my bum.
Real Romainacs stuff...
I have never been up anything like that whilst awake.
Several times on the way down I was thinking that I wouldn't like to come back up that bit
A few dead ends...
And off up the right branch and into the wet...
I knew it was a loop but wasn't quite sure where it came out...
Finally it did...
That was about 3 hrs of fun.
Edit: Oh and my "Freaky Hill" I don't like?
I still don't like it, but the trials rear let me pootle up it like on a Friday afternoon drive.
A friday afternoon drive with your auntie who has had too much sherry, wanted to try 4wd'ing and fallen asleep at the wheel, half way up a steep hill...
Yup, its a bloody good wee playground up there alright.
Tell me though, I am a bit confused about this trials tyre thing. Is it grippier than a knobbly?
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
95% of the time - hell yes.
Doesn't dig trenches either.
I've got to put the Shinko 705's on. I'm going to get into too much trouble with the trials rear on...
It's like the suit in that Jackie Chan movie.
Makes you think you're invulnerable and when you find out you're not, you're in really deep doo-doo...
Looks good we should have been there but it was raining......anyway tomorrow (Monday) looks better so if anyone wants a trip out to MtPartiarch via the Mungatapu with a few detours on the way then Mobil servo in Richmond at 10.
Cheers
