Funnily enough, I was talking to my bank manager today about maybe buying something ex ebay.

    Hmmmmmm
Yep. Think you'd be better off (literally) with an RC30 than a McIntosh mate.

Same here. I certainly don't have that sorta spare cash and my internets capped at the moment so I cbf doing a thorough search internationally to see what they're worth at the moment. But I can't think of anything else I could get for $40k that I'd rather have in my lounge until the apocalypse comes.

I know of a derestricted Jap market version in good nick that went for around $16k here a few years back - I'd think that's probably still about right.

A while back I saw an ad for the HRC prepped, fully kitted RC30 that was to have been Stephane Mehrtens bike for the season when he went to Ducati. The Belgian dealer still had it sitting unused. Those of us who were at the practise day at Manfield WSB round will remember what happened to his previous RC30...came back to the pits in several large pieces....

These aren't worth 40k yet but they are probably heading that way over time. I owned a minter a few years back that I had to let go so my 2nd wife didn't get it in the settlement. I paid 16k for it from Sawyers in Adelaide Rd. Some B'stard sold it to me. I called in for a coffee break and there it was, just begging to be taken home. It was tiny and the frame used to get really hot but it was a phaaarkin serious bit of kit. Hand made Honda. I'll always regret letting it go and I'd have another one tomorrow, but at 40k this guy is taking the piss. Maybe on Ebay some arsehole with too much phaarkin money would pay that, but you could buy all sorts of exotica for 40k.
One thing that I discovered one day in my shed was that the RC30 had identical switch gear to my 916sp made 7 years later. No shit! I was staggered. Still, the Italians and their electrics eh? They obviously figured out the Japs were good at something.

Well spotted grasshopper. Pharkin chain lube from bein zippy with it on SH58. I still have a spare rear wheel for actually. I'm going to make a phaarkin coffee table out of it to remind me of my 2nd wife. I'm goin to put my feet up on it, if you know what I mean.

Fuck...if I made something out of a wheel in memory of my last ex, it'd be a fucking toilet seat.

Jeez man! Only creatures from the black lagoon shit on the seat anymore. Now pee in the shower, well that's perfectly acceptable. Guess who doesn't brush and spray afterwards in your house? Let alone open a window or light a match.

Love the RC30, but I'll stick with my OW01. It has the right badge on the tank!
