    2011 f4 f5 gp

    Hello all.

Does anyone know of a club or group looking at running this event? I am willing to help in any way I can to make something happen this year. Just need to know if there are things in the pipe line before I try and find a way to make it happen within this year. Can't let Andrew A have an uncontested title. Also the F5 field will be a lot bigger by the sound of things this year.

There is a big hole in the event calendar with out a big track GP. What ever eventuates it would be great to make it a sustainable annual Bucket main event. The fields are growing all over the country and the bikes and riders are getting better and faster. A massive annual GP / TT would be great. As Taupo has been in the past. You never know if it was well sorted we might even get some visitors from across the ditch.

To be a legit. GP that would have to be a must IMO (and no others ie SS150, classics or jet powered superbikes in the same race either).

All we need now is a club to run it.

All I want to know is if any club in the north island is planning a GP. If not then people can get together and see if it can be done anyway.

I had heard a rumour it was moving south this year when the TRRS wasn't happening.
Could be a completely unfounded rumour with absolutely no facts behind it.

BOB is always 55 min + 1 lap even when it's torrential pissing down rain bordering on snow

    You're not selling it Kick.

Honestly it has only been like that once I remember in '08 & largely 'cause it was run in the middle of winter. This time is mid October.

    Go the BOB.

I heard a rumour a couple of clubs are working together for staging a Bucket GP in the early part of next year. Let's hope it includes a BBQ, beer and lots of buckets.
Yes 4 strokes are for homos. Homo-sapiens that is, who have realized bigger is better.

I have been trying to get a date at Manfield short track in Feb or March, trouble being we cannot run it when there is high speed action on the main track, there is not yet a safety barrier bewteen the tracks, and yes it really wouldn't be funny to have a big fat V8 touring car taking out 8 buckets as it slid out of control.

Feild Days weeks in March are a problem and the cost is looking at about a bit over $2k for the weekend, which I am sure we can cover IF there is no clashes with the likes of Paeroa etc.

This would also suit being a round of the North Island Series.

I will work on this tomorrow and report my finds tomorrow eve or Sat morning.

To save on costs, best thing would be to try and piggy-back off one of the trackdays e.g. Honda something-or-rather??? Went to a backtrack day last year which was organised as warm-up to Cemetry Circuit.

Funny shit was...St Johns were there for the main track riders, mainly a bunch of touring bike types. They seemed to decide pretty quick to 'position' themselves closer to backtrack - even tho no one had any big offs

I have made lots of calls today. Myself and others are trying for a GP this year. If it were next year as has been suggested it would have be uncontested for 2011. And we can't have that. Taupo is where I am trying to make things happen. It is the best track for a GP. Also it will be a proper race length. Watch this space after the weekend.
